The second and final part of this series was shown last night on Channel 4 and is repeated on Monday night (I Think), after which it will be on 4OD.
This episode looks at the psychology of religious belief and includes a number of interesting experiments, the main one being to induce a religious-like experience in an atheist. He shows that we are in fact wired for religious-like belief and that even skeptics will demonstrate irrational superstitious reactions given the appropriate stimulus.
It isn't anti-religious - Derren makes a particular point of recognising the happiness that faith brings to many people and stresses that his aim is not to deride those with faith or suggest they are foolish. So, I can thoroughly recommend every one watch it and I'd be interested on your views from it.
Apologies to those not in the UK as I don't think you will be able to view it on the Internet.
