Depends how well you say it, & how seriously people take you....

"If the Truth can be told so as to be Understood, it shall be Believed"
(surely the best line in the bible..)

Uh... I missed the part where I quoted anyone!

You don't have to lecture me on the damage wrought by organised religion, but that's not really the issue at stake here. The debate kicked off, correct me if I'm wrong, by a contributor who considers herself a deist giving her highly personal interpretation of the sayings and parables ascribed to the character Jesus.
Now she seemed to be saying that a great mistake has been made in drawing any dogmatic creed from ones spiritual convictions. Now, again correct me if I'm wrong, aren't those exactly the sort of people who have been tortured & killed in the name of organised religion. Name if you can a tyrannical political system that systematically kills in the name of non dogmatic approach that encourages the individual to decide on their own interpretation.
Not that we sensible atheists find this wishy-washy approach any more believable, but surely it is more acceptable?

spin the only prophet i believe in is the profit i make at whatever i do. never trust the ones that represent you because just those that have been caught out of parliament are perverted bastards anyway

Spin says:
If I state in public that 1 and 1 equals 2, am I to be considered a "Prophet"? If I stress the fact that violence does no more than create problems, am I to be considered a Phrophet? Or is my ethical and moral system dependent on those whom I trust to represent me...
