Why have you taken to simons threads so badly, as far as my experience goes his worst posts to others can be very condesending but thats not as bad as a few other posters. If you find him making you upset maybe it would be best to have him on ignore.

Thats what I did Molly. Simon is a prat, plain and simple whos' sole purpose is to wind people up.
He contributes absolutely nothing
Simply hit the ignore button and you can enjoy the discussions without reading his drivel, for drivel it be, Arr! ( Sorry , it felt like it should be said in a pirate voice)

Not quite.

If you are viewing a particular discussion, posts started by people you are ignoring don't appear in the list of recent discussions below it.

However, if you open the full forum list (click on the "see all forum discussions" or the forum name in "your recently viewed discussions") you will see something like

[You are ignoring the person who started this discussion]

in the discussion list.

Hi Molly

Its not so much as I like him, I have been or rather tried to be equal to his quips and comebacks to some of his nonsense, but I can read his posts and sometimes comment on things I think are worth talking about.

Anyhoo I have seen you have found the full use of the ignore button now so hope you can return to your cool self =)

put on some wellies, grab an umbrella and take a walk in the park either by yourself or with someone or some people you like, I find days like this when I can do that very relaxing =)

If you ignore a poster, the threads they start are also hidden.

Trouble is, on here, that means there's hardly anything left...

It has gone quite on here though,
I come on this Forum Monday night and there was virtually no one posting except Simon of course and 'The One'.
Simon I dont mind so much, he is just condescending like many gay men are and I can put up with that.
I've had a scout round on other web sites to see if there is any decent political Forums - they all seem to be dying a death or clogged up with even more rubbish than what I see on here at times!

Ah yes the TRF where I crossed swords with the eponymous Wayne Redhart.
I suppose if Simon dared to venture in them parts all the eggheads who seem to congregate on there would love playing with him!
I've tried the religion forum but I can't seem to get going there. Lot of the threads seem a bit crackers to me and there seems to be a certain bloc there who back each other up no matter what they say - like the Eurovision!

Nah, sometimes just walking and taking in the views and breathing in the fresh air when nobodies around re-energises the mind and body for me, I'm reminded how peaceful it is and take comfort in the idea that the rain helps everyone and we are lucky to have it

Well said.

Strange, though, how people look at you a bit funny if you walk around *without* a dog.

Quite true Gille, I would love to walk through our local woods on a sunny day ( ah, remember them?) but at 54 and without a dog I'm gonna feel very selfconcious.

Gary,

This is really rather sad, and also, if I may say, rather strange. I think it's a great pity if you deny yourself an innocent pastime which would give you great pleasure, because of what you imagine others may think of you.

Seriously - stuff em. You've as much right there as anyone else. If they don't like it, then that is their problem.

Agreed...the one types with fingers filled with wisdom...the fount applauds and sings..."there are two men in my life, to one I am a mother, to the other I'm a wife...and I give them both the best with natural kooky-wheat"!
