Simple....they think and act like robotic automatons.....following the tradition of their culture and their brain dead society. We grow up here in the UK in a society which says you can farm and use pigs, cows, sheep....but not dogs, cats and horses...ah the hypocrisy!

Could it be the taste? Cat, dog and horse are very lean, us meaties like a bit of fat for better flavour...something you know nothing of as a beans on toast man.

It's because most meat eaters eat herbivores. Horses have more value or rather had more value as animals to transport and use for farming traditionally and that became the norm for not eating it in most parts.

There are parts of the world that do eat cats and dogs. In an idiot abroad Carl pilkington was fed donkey privates without his knowledge but it's meant to be a delicacy in Egypt, was Nuff funny when Carl found out though

Avoiding the point eh Beloved...you know the reason is the ridiculous difference people have between what is labeled a "pet" and what is labeled "food"...nothing to do with taste as most people have never tried dog or cat. Poor debating my friend. You know I am on a winner!

MC Zaptone says:
Dogs and cats are impossible to farm, far too intelligent. They would need to be caged, far too expensive.
The fact that they show love and loyalty and that's a trait that is valued by cultures around the globe.
How about children?

Some people do, it's called bushmeat, but they are hard to farm because they have very specific dietary needs and are hard to catch.

As a fish eater yourself, do you eat shark, dolphins or whales?

Don't kid yourself Simon. Your personality defect is showing...again. Why are you obsessed with winning...silly boy. Are there any pills you can take to blunt your competitive urges?

I'm not trying to debate...just light entertainment.

BTW why do you use stupid expressions like "my friend"?

BTW I do know that what we eat is cuturally determined along with other factors.

Are "they" just modern meat eaters or does that include all meat eaters going back thousands of years?
This guys got a screw loose!

Oh BOO HOO people eat meat, always have, always will. Engage your higher level and grow up. There is no logic to your "arguement " when you dismiss thousands of years of culture.
Oh and please tell me more about "a logical argument that functions on a higher level than you can think about." 'cos you sound soooooo clever

Book Worm says:
I can't understand the logic of eating farm animals, but not cats/dogs or other pets, especially when modern research clearly shows that pigs have the intelligence of an average three year old child and are very sociable creatures. Animals have been shown to feel fear and to communicate fear to the other creatures present. They are sentient beings who feel pain. To quote Paul McCartney, 'If abbatoirs had windows, the world would become vegetarian'. Except, of course, for those human (definitely no 'e' on the end of human!) beings who think that they have the supreme right to decide what lives and what dies. I'll stick with my beans and salad, thank you, and keep a clear conscience - and I bet I'm a damnsight healthier than most meat-eaters, too.

Whoa, another self rightious foo thats on a rant because of a little trapped wind (that's beans and salad for you), ok I'll help you out, the clues are in the name, 'farm' animals ok to eat, 'pets' not ok to eat.

You may very well be healthier but that would be because you are watching what you are eating and if you compared yourself to those meat eaters that did the same I'm pretty sure they would be on par or healthier then you but with more friends.

Clearly you are the one lacking in mental aptitude when you fail to comprehend what you post are extreme over simplifications

Clearly you are only allowed crayons to write and draw with.
Your "equation" shows sad ignorance and a closed mind. Sad little man.
What we eat does not dictate who we are and what our worth is in the great mystery that is life; and to believe otherwise is just stoopid.
