Who here thinks it unreasonable when people get arrested for kissing in public in Dubai, or sentenced to death for drug smuggling in Indonesia ?

Breaching the of 'law of the land' as it were.

Is the poor person arrested in the right or the wrong, for doing what they do at home elsewhere and not being smart enough to check the laws ?? Or should every country in the world have the same laws as each other ?

Sou'Wester says:
The practical point is surely "When in Rome ......" If people are going to a very different culture from their own it is incumbent on visitors to brief themselves about that culture beforehand. After all it is generally accepted in western culture that ignorance is (usually) no excuse in the eyes of the law.

Is the media right and Sweden, a liberal left country, is moving to the right. Or has nothing really changed but the liberal media can no longer ignore the right and call them mindless racists in the light of the reality of the immigrant crisis. 14 5 hours ago

What is the maximum amount of words you are allowed in a heading and does your subsequent first post have to reflect the information given in the heading or can you already have changed your mind by then and moved onto another topic. Does anyone know. 6 7 hours ago
