They all all hated it probably - kept thinking: we agree with Kodokushi, what wally arranged this match on Russia Day, in Poland against the Poles with a German ref?

I think my point is more about the older players, even Rooney, who see a draw as something acceptable, like it's a league game, they don't seem to have a sense of urgency that this is a knock out competition where anything can happen. They seem to be very sure they will have no problems in beating Sweden or the Ukraine, so France was okay to just get one point from. Looks like they were wrong, and France was the easiest of the games they should have won. It's not about trying harder, it's about the importance attached in getting three points.

I don't know so much if the players think the other games will be easy; it's the fans, some of them, who are being a bit unrealistic about that.

Irritated I couldn't see Germany-Holland, sounds like it was a good game. I don't want Holland to go out yet because, if they can get their act together, they're usually one of the most entertaining sides. Also one of the most self-detructive though.

Russia are entertaining to watch, haven't seen any German matches yet. Could be the Eastern Front Final we've all be waiting for since WW2. Imagine if Russia won the Euro's, oh how (Ras)Putin would gloat! My God!!

Germany Holland match was alright - but not being (in any way) a big fan of football, I can't say whether it was well played or not. Found a lot of it quite boring; lots of passing back - let the goalie kick - opposition gets the ball - passes back - goalie has a kick. And Van Percy missed a lot of what seemed would be relatively easy goals, but then he was alone up front - can't expect one man to win the match for you I guess lol

England I think are too relaxed about the whole thing and never seem to care too much about either a) that they're representing the country b) what people expect of them OR c) actually trying win. 1 point's better than none, but surely they should be putting in some more effort for 3 - and I don't think the remaining matches will be as 'easy' as they seem to think.

Kod, as you typed, you are not a fan...and from what you wrote you know nothing worth reading about football.

Doo doo...doo doo bi doo doo...do-doo bi do-doo bi doo, En-gland!

That's another thing - 'bout time the band got itself a few new tunes, no? I'm sick of the Great Escape (which they play wrong anyway), Ring of Fire (ditto) and the embarrassing God Save The Queen.

What's your problem exactly ?
Just because I'm not out waving a flag or blowing a vuvuzela or name every person on the team, it doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on England's attitude/the way they play/or any other matches =/

Very generous of the Irish to give Torres the chance to rehabilitate himself.

Getting sick of the singing now. Enough Athenry already! I've always quite liked the song, but I don't I can stands no more.

Well, I think it's actually Steve Gerard who is unrealistic about Sweden "not being France". Don't know if that was just a geographic observation or shear stupidity?

I think England's recent record is much worse against Sweden, and Ukraine have beaten them a few times also. Gerard's comments sure have fired up the Swedes though. Idiot. Captain! LOL (Lots of Love).

Well, time will tell. Ten years ago that would've been a simple statement of fact (and not just geographical); but after seeing France the other night I'm not so sure. Did England make them look mediocre by defending well? That's what they'll be hoping.

I kind of feel Gerrard can't possibly be as dumb as he appears to be. My favourite Gerrard-ism was from a few years ago, when he said 'We don' wanna slip up againss Grreece'.

Rain stopped play? I thought Ukrainians were supposed to be tough...

Football isn't always commutative, but at the time of writing it's looking good for the 'Sweden aren't France' theory.

Good call, DG; but as that was the score when you posted, and there were only about 10 minutes to go, I'm not completely convinced of your psychic powers just yet.

Bad luck KK...and you too, Molly. ;)
