here in nottingham the recycle teams and rubbish teams empty your bin and leave your bin where they may feel like it? it is in fact their job to bring the bin back to the collection point usually outside your gate not 2 streets away where i have found mine and my neighbours at times?all it takes is a phone call and they have to bring it back to you without you traipsing out in the rain to fetch it

Good tip. Thanks.

You think you've got problems - Ribble Valley have missed 3 of our last 5, because of roadworks which would mean the bin men had to walk a few yards to the bins.

But bin men are, notoriously, a law unto themselves.

No. I have a good relationship with our local refuse department, and I don't live in Nottingham area! However I do think binmen are very careless sometimes.

Can I have the number just in case I ever move to the Nottingham area please?

Can I have the Nottingham number to complain that my bins always get left in a street in Portsmouth?

I've just looked up the lyrics of Lonnie Donnegan's 'My Old Man's a Dustman' song, and it mentions the dustman spilling rubbish at a house where they don't give an Xmas box. I've not noticed them doing it to us, hope they don't, but my husband refuses saying he does more refuse disposal than they do! Actually I do more refuse disposal than they do.

Gateshead council

Apparently our bin men will get ipads to do their job so my mother was saying (works for the council). Well I'm glad our taxes are being spent wisely I must say.

Ah! Now I know why the Tories are attacking the elderly. They are sick of OAPS complaining about having to leave thier home and walking to collect a bin...Hitler did the same; but he made OAPs march for their bin..

Cameron et al will soon pay you to collect the bin full of your own waste. Indeed, soon you will not be placing your bin on the street but keeping it as tomorrows dinner...
