Deano says:
Just having a bit of a mooch around and I happened upon these:-

Cosmic Universal Fashion

I bought Croweology when it first came out, and paid double what they are asking for it now. For a double album, £4.99 is a bit of a snip. The Sammy Hagar was one I came across a couple of weeks ago, couldnt resist it at this price, the last time I checked it was £8 or £9.

I just thought it would be good to have somewhere, where we could hilight some of the bargains we find, that may otherwise go un-noticed.

Good idea Deano:

The Collection 1973-1984 - Bruce Springsteen - his first 7 albums (8 CDs) in mini LP sleeves in a box for under £14 , a new issue which is cheaper than the original a few weeks back.

Yes, what a bargain, so I bought the Sammy Hagar one. Many thanks, Deano!

T. Franklin says:
I'd jump for that Bruce set if I didn't already have the Japanese mini vinyl discs.

new record shop (and dvd) shop in belfast where zavvi used to be (Victoria centre)
spotted David Crosby's Wish I Could Remember My Name for £2
also Neil Diamond's Twelve Songs for £1 (is it any good)
worth a rummage smitty and co

I got the Neil Diamond Twelve Songs , also for £1 three weeks ago.
If you like Diamonds voice , and think some of his other stuff is overproduced at times you should like this. It was his strongest set for some time.

Have not been in Belfast during the day since April, Huck. Not that I prefer the cover of darkness or anything suspicious, just lack of interest. My interest in going into town has been very closely linked to the closing of record shops and the lack of interest in HMV with anything outside of dvds and games.

Maybe I will drop in.

MC Zaptone says:
We've got a 'Head' here in South London. Quality store. It's the remnants of the Zavvi management buy-out. They buy job lots and 'last of's' from other retailers. Lots of unusual CD's and bargains galore.

KJP - 100% agree on the Diamond album. It's his best for about 25 years. His voice, guitar and songwriting are all top notch here. And for a quid? It's worth it just for Delirious Love.

I always considered Diamond a good songwriter and I don't understand why he gets so much stick.

I expect everyone here is aware of the Original Album Classics and the Original Album Series, but if not, here's a few to consider:
Get yourself 13 Santana albums for about £30
Original Album Classics Vol.1: Caravanserai/Love Devotion Surrender/Welcome/Borboletta/Amigos
Original Album Classics: Inner Secrets/Marathon/Zebop!/Shango/Freedom
Original Album Classics: Illuminations/Oneness/the Swing of Delight

A must have for West Coast fans:

Original Album Classics - Spirit (use marketplace)

One for the jazzers:

Thelonious Monk Original Album

You beat me to it Cornish, I was only talking about this series with Mark K about an hour ago.
Here's the few that are on my shopping list. When they work out at less than £3 an album, it would be daft not to.

Original Album Classics
Original Album Classics: Pickin' Up The Pieces / Poco / Crazy Eyes / From The Inside / A Good Feelin' To Know
Original Album Series (5 Pack)
Original Album Series

20 albums for just over £40. Whats not to like.

Absolutely Deano.

The album that Motley Crue wish they'd been allowed to make back in the day.

Feel The Steel by Steel Panther.

Utter filth, sure to raise a bit of a smile so long as you have bit of a sick sense of humour.
Cant help it, I'm a forty year old teenager!!
I'd check it out on Spotify first though!!

print this out - 20% off until 7th November
i see they also have both (each) of Paladin and Hatfield CDs !!

It is the first record shop I have got excited to be in in around a decade, including the Virgin Store in NY three years ago. I will have to go back ASAP. Hundreds of cds at £2 and £3, some of which are worth further investigation.

I noticed at least a dozen Crimson albums, loads of Beefheart and other artists that the mainstream fail to show any interest in whatsoever.

Thanks for the introduction, Huck!

Huck Flynn says:
i saw a Drever, Woomble McCusker CD for £1 in folk section
Elton's Tumbleweed SACD for £3
and Gary Moore Still Got the Blues for £3
for all three that would be £5.60 with your 20% discount !!!
as Eric Burden once sang "I Got to Get Out of this Place"

Very jealous. Wish there was one of them in Brum. To go into a music shop with £30 burning a hole in your pocket, knowing you'll be coming out with 6 or 7 cds is the thing of dreams.

Just noticed, that after my moan about the price of Croweology going back up in price, it would appear that zon have put the price back down. I'm sure its nothing to do with me, but just in case it is....

Amazon, I'd like to see the price of the Phideaux catalogue around the £6 or £7 mark!!

You dont ask, you dont get!!
