The Deadheads have come out as self-confessed oddballs and we have all had a good go at them for it. What's your oddball musical qualification though ?

I collect metronomes - currently I have just over two thousand and I synchronise them twice a month.

Was Lord Cut-Glass in Under Milk Wood your greatest role model, Sparky?

I'm not sure I have any musical qualifications. My oddness doesn't end with my musical taste. Perhaps I'd qualify on the grounds of having amassed a nearly complete collection of King Crimson studio albums before realizing I didn't like them and having to sell them all again. Or having owned a guitar for over thirty years but never learned how to tune it, with the consequence that I could never play it in tune.

Sparky!!!!!!

I do have a metronome and it has sat for years between the amp and turntable - true! ( It has great sentimental value to me as it was my Grandmothers, a very talented musician, and it lived on her piano when I was a child).

Gordon - Old Cut-Glass was indeed my inspiration for many years, we were born in the same village.
Cornish - The old metronomes can be quite valuable now - and they are very easy to play, if a bit boring. Get half a dozen going at different tempos though and man, have you got a party on your hands!

Not really RAB, but thinking it does might...eeek!

RABB says:
How about I've owned a guitar for five years and no nothing of scales and proper chords? Or does that just make me a punk guitarist?

In reply to an earlier post on 12 Nov 2012 11:46:43 GMT
Sparky says:
That's entirely normal I'm afriad RAB, a punk guitarist would take ten years to get to that level ;-)

RABB says:
In that case I'm a worryingly normal guy when it comes to music.

Normality qualifies you as an oddball round here.

Nugent Dirt says:
No it makes you lead guitar material in any number of metal bands. Distortion on max + some sitting-in-front-of-the-TV-noodling and hey presto a guitar god is born.

I thought it was necessary to allow men to walk comfortably.
