Towards the end of my time in London I suffered from terrible insomnia. I used to listen to LBC all night as there was no point trying to sleep. There were some ridiculous phone-ins and ludicrously easy quizzes but it was better than lying in silence staring into the dark. Robbie Vincent and Mike Allen became valuable companions, as did some of their regular callers. There used to be some pretty good film reviews on the early-evening shows, too.

When Jazz FM came on air in 1990 I would sometimes listen to that through the night if LBC was being particularly crap.

Steve Alan is so funny to listen to...they have Clegg on and Boris has some very good presenters and some that make you want to scream at the radio...but I am so glad it's back on for interesting conversation and a change from just the same old same old chart music...BBC radio4x is the next best thing for the midnight horrors....was radio7...LBC was so popular with The whole of the UK they went national!
