Just heard a Black Crowes track on the radio and really liked it. Unfortunately I didn't get the title. Realised that I don't have any Black Crowes in my collection and wondered where would be a good place to start.

Brass Neck says:
Agreed. Shake Your Money Maker was their great debut and if you do MP3s then the recent live vinyl and MP3 only set Wiser for the Time is available in 320kps download from play for just £7.99.

IMO all the Black Crowes stuff is great but the ones to avoid are Three Snakes And One Charm and The Black Crowes Live which is a curiously lacklustre set.

Only Black Crowes I have is their live set with Jimmy Page but worth parting with a few shekels for - a real cracker!

Good band, if you just want to sample them, get Greatest Hits 1990-1999: A Tribute To A Work In Progress..., or Croweology shows of their songs well.

I liked Three Snakes, good record, maybe not as good as Amorica but close enough.

If ever a band was out of time.....

Still, I've just recently acquired their first two albums and Freak 'N' Roll... Into Fog - great old school rock n roll band.
