One of our local bands, Shelby's Elbows are releasing a Christmas single in the next few weeks and its fab! It's already on Youtube and will be on Amazon to download in the next couple of weeks:

This got me thinking - are there any other 'lesser-known' Christmas songs out there that people like? I think we must all be sick of hearing the same old tunes every year...

Love the Tim Minchin link. As for the Hoff, I don't think I can add anything to that...!

Blackmores Night. All their music sounds christmassy anyway.

I start on Dec 1 with some Bing, Satchmo, SinAtra, King etc. then through Tull, Motown, Anita Baker, JB, Womack, Ojays, Tops, Impressions, Mark Lamarr Jimmy Smith, some of the naff stuff for the missus and Blackmores Night on Xmas eve. I have a Classical piece by Taverner for Xmas morning followed by Francesco Zappa and that's it for another year.

The best/funniest Christmas song: My Simple Christmas Wish written by David Friedman. Very showbiz but very funny.
