erm...look in your stereo(s)/cd player(s)...has it fell down the back of the rack? if not you've got a long night ahead of you checking those other 551 cases for a doubler. good luck. looks like you're gonna need it....actually it might be quicker to replace it with a new one off amazon.

Name 501 places where the cd could be.......

1) In the CD tray of your PC
2) In the glove box of your car
3) Any other CD player around the house (or in the car) including any dvd players
4) In a CD wallet type thingy used on a previous holiday

Been there, matey, been there, believe me!!

Any other ideas out there?

S.R. either you're losing the plot or you've got a Humphrey round the house.

On the other hand could this be a fiendish plot by the locusts to keep you otherwise occupied while they dive on to your pc.

...in another CD case put there by accident or design....

Many's the time I've returned a CD to the local music library only to find I've got the case but the CD is in the player at home.

BTW, how many CD players have you got at home:

The posh one in the living room, the DVD player, the DVD recorder, the CD recorder bought years ago and not used very often nowadays, the portable player bought by my parents many years ago, two used PCs and one spare in a cupboard upstairs, the work laptop, the DVD payer in the bed room, and the CD player in the car (which can be at home, nearly)

Your ex has walked off with it. I lost so much of my stuff that way. It's one thing when the person you love walks out on your life, leaving you with that hollow voidy numbness that words can never describe, but when they take your entire Tina Charles collection with them it all becomes way too much to bear.

I'm so alone! Why do they all leave me, why!!!

"but when they take your entire Tina Charles collection with them" - in every cloud there is etc etc.

I've only ever lost one LP. A certain individual "borrowed" the first Paul Simon solo effort. Never returned it (an officer but no gentleman).

Could you tell me which cd is awol, that way I can judge how much time to spend deliberating your dilemma!

Ps. I have managed to clip one cd on top of another in the wrong case, not only that it was a double cd that flipped open and the missing one was on the underside (if you follow), took me bloody ages to find it.
good luck

Is it possible that you have had a listening session and replaced the cd's out of synch. When I'm burning 2 or 3 new cd-r's for Djing I quite often do this and have to backtrack my playlist, you only have to get one wrong and you end up chasing back quite a few before reaching the end/beginning of the mistake.

Ps. Don't know Death Vessell but this will be rectified! Glad to know it's folkish because with a name like that I would probably have dismissed it as death metal, just goes to show....book/cover and all that.

One day years ago, after years of searching I finally managed to find Hawkwind's Choose Your Masques. My very nice postman delivered it to me one morning just before I left for work, so I opened it up, checked all was OK then spent the whole day anticipating the evening with a nice big one to smoke, headphones on and at last, the only Hawkwind CD that had evaded me.
So I got home, got everything ready and went to put it on. But it wasn't in the case any longer!!! Horrors, I spent the whole night puzzling where it could be. And I never found it. Not only was my evening ruined, my life for years afterwards was spent trying to work out what on earth had happened. Had I imagined seeing it in the case? No, I remember putting it in the CD player to check the running time, then carefully placing it back in the case and on top of the CD rack ready for the evening. it HAD to be there - but it wasn't. The case was, but that just added to my agony.
Then, about 5 years later, Hawkwind came to play in my home town. By this time my kid was 14. I have to point out at this stage that he didn't live with me but he sometimes popped in after school, while I was at work to, use the computer, raid the fridge, torture the cat, things like that.
When I mentioned to him that I was going to see Hawkwind he came out with - Oh Hawkwind, I know them, I've got a CD of theirs called Choose Your Masques!!!!
Upon interrogation it turned out that he had called round, noticed my CD, decided he wanted to rip it onto his own computer, and borrowed it. Then once ripped, he took out the CD and placed it into some other case he had around and then forgot all about it. It had been sitting unused at his mother's place for 5 years.
The consolation is, that after only ever being played once then stashed away, it was still in perfect condition (just look up the price of that one on Amazon!).

The damned thing is still eluding me, been through all the Cds-interesting task in itself, mmmmmm haven't played that for ages and came across lots of Cds in those very thin cardboard cases. But alas cannot find it. The locusts all plead not guilty, might need to have a search of whole house next. But it really is peeing me off I can tell you

Been there done that on several occasions including one CD I'd only just got. Its amazing how they can jusr totally fail to turn up. Tried to remember what other CDs I'd been listening to,gve up and did a systematic search of collection (into 4 figures) zilch nada etc etc.
Wherever those other socks are is no doubt where these Cds can be found.

I 'lost' my VINYL copy of 'Future Days' by Can for several years! Still had the cover, just no album. I even went so far as to try and order a replacement but it had been deleted (much like many of my posts just lately!). Then, several years later, I found that a double album of mine had turned into a triple, and there was the errant 'Future Days'. Friends whose house I had been living in had played it and stuck it in the wrong sleeve. Some friends!
Love.

The double couldn't have been up to much if it took you that long to pick it up.

Was without a record player/permanent home for a large part of the time MK. Actually, I have a feeling it may have been one of Zappa and The Mothers, I don't have all that many double albums by anyone else.
Love.

I can't ever remember losing a disc but I remember wanting to play The Clash's Sandinista! one day and the second disc was in pieces inside the case. To this day I can't figure it out as the rest of the package was still intact in its normal place on the shelf.
