When listening to Elton John sing anything (even "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road") realize he was NOT born gay ! Nobody is (mygenes.co.nz) ! The fact that most identical twins (if there is any homosexuality among them at all) have only one gay twin prove this!

I saw his profile: he obviously likes his humour 'basic' and mildly misogynistic. I prefer to think Benny Hill rhyming slang for 'mentally ill'

And wasn't his breakthrough hit title bowdlerised by his record company because they didn't think the British charts and radio stations were ready for 'Your Schlong'?

A little research produces this opinion....

"Those who wish to know more about Dr Neil Whitehead's scientific credentials in so far as they relate to this subject may be interested in what Professor Michael Dunne, of the School of Public Health at the Queensland University of Technology, had to say after Whitehead was so incautious as to cite a study by the latter to support his opposition to a Civil Unions Bill in 2004:

"The essential problem is that Dr Whitehead's research is quasi-science. He has strayed far beyond his field of expertise. His training and professional experience, and his publications in academic journals, are almost entirely in geological and nuclear science. I conducted an exhaustive search of his research papers listed by Thompson ISI Web of Science (the international standard search tool for scientific information). Although Dr Whitehead claims he has researched the field of sexuality for 13 years, this effort has been entirely unproductive. My search revealed no empirical study of human sexuality and indeed no systematic review on the topic that has been accepted by internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals. His three books are populist and are not published by mainstream academic publishers that require scientific review. Thus, they are not regarded as serious works in the field of human sexuality." "

Great - I get a post removed from the Talk ******** thread despite heavily censoring a semi-rude word and yet Amazon allow someone to start this kind of stuff which is both pathetic and inflammatory.

Sparky says:
R.P. - I would respectfully choose to differ (in general); if an artist decides to sing words written by someone else it may well be because he agrees with them and so to all intents and purposes they are the artist's words. Christy Moore is an outstanding example of one who sings a lot of songs he didn't write but it is precisely because he identifies strongly with the sentiments of the writer (IMHO). This may or may not be the case with Elton and Bernie, but it could be.

Rock Zombie says:
He's the one who chose to be gay. Or he was born gay but pretends to be straight, and therefore thinks he chose to be gay.
