For the Classicists among you - MDT have some amazing half-price EMI Classics (and some jazz) bargains.
Not my sort of thing but there's a box set The Very Best of The Record of Singing Volume 5 (1953-2008) (10CD) at £13.95

Thanks for the info Lez. Definitely a bargain. I've had a good look at it and am humming and hawing. Postage to Oz just about doubles it. But at least I've been introduced to MDT, previously unknown to me. Thanks again.

Hi Val.
MDT have great sales, often with less familiar music. I also like Presto Classical and www.classicalcdexchange.co.uk (used CDs). Blackwell's is an American site which I don't use because of the postage. I expect you know Arkiv Music - terrific stock but can be expensive. It's a brilliant source of info on CD tracklistings and personnel.

EDIT Just read on Classical 'What do you have on order?' that Arkiv have a 'fantastic sale' (from Ryan Kernaghan - a fellow Aussie). I daren't look!

On Fire well worth a try. For fans of Deep Purple etc. The reviews are a fair reflection of what to expect.

wowhd are doing a 20% off if you buy three or more pre-order cds eg Killers deluxe at £8, Mumford deluxe likewise, new ZZ Top £6.80, Chris Robinson Brotherhood's newie (very Allman Bros apparently, that'll do nicely) £7.20, Ben Folds Five £6 etc. Offer on till Tues midnight (also on Australian site Val).

Thanks for the tip Brassy - I think! Picking three was easy - but then you get tempted by the free postage if you spend $60.00. So I wound up with:

Mark Knopfler - Privateering (2CD)
Mumford & Sons - Babel (Deluxe Edition) CD
Van Morrison - Born to Sing: No Plan B CD
Band of Horses - Mirage Rock (Deluxe Edition) CD
Bob Dylan - Tempest CD

Cost me AUS$66 (about £43) delivered. I wouldn't be able to get them cheaper without waiting for a good few months after their release. And the Oz sale ends in about 5 hours so I just got in. Thanks again!

As Peter Cook once said, the Americans have their soul singers, and we have our soul singers, to whit:

Soulicious The Soul Album

More for the Cliffist than the soulist, I'd say, but £2.49 well invested either way.

Some downloads that I can recommend more heartily than the Cliff effort:

Original Album Classics
Nevada Fighter / Tantamount To Treason
