Went through a phase where I just bought cds with the
intension of one track If I liked some of the other tracks
then it would have been a bonus...'Pure Shores' is a fine
example, use to do the same with vinyl.

Didn't realise Abba was in the closet, I'll come clean with The Albums, but anyone that write catchy melodies like they did cannot be bad in my book.

Yeah? - right!.....'Ohh Wakka Doo Wakka Day'.....!

I think that you should be pleading for mercy with Track eleven? - 'Why, Oh Why, Oh Why?' ;o>

wharfie, i've got all saints' "all hits" & nowt wrong wi' it ; some cracking songs like "pure shores" & excellent production by w. orbit. have to admit to 1 atomic kitten single too "whole again" , dance version of which is much better. bit poppy for me but it was a present 10 years ago.

On reflection it's not a bad album at all,a few duffers, its like
the senario that everybody has a Abba cd in their collection
but they don't like to admit to it.

said it before, wharfie, nowt wrong with the sugababes. & arrival is 1 of abba's best ; intrigued as to which "1 of their tracks" you like. instrumental title track ? money, money, money ?
suzy, it's admittedly taken you, let's say charitably, a number of posts, but at last you've come up with an album i could listen to without sticking pins in my eardrums, namely "the story of the clash". congratulations !

I make no apologies for having Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, X & Y and Viva la Vida from Coldplay.

Not touching Mylo Xywotsit though.

Cornish - I once tried to give David Gray - White Ladder to a charity shop. They refused it as they already had 5!
Not sure how eyebrow-raising these are but I have all Keane's albums and one Coldplay.

.....Don't tell anyone I've just come across Bryan Adams,Sugarbabes and
Abba.....hate to think what else is lurking in there!

You know what? - you're dead right, M. C.!
Even my eyebrows are perched in disbelief on the very top of my head now.....(*hangs head and sighs*)

Thanks to this thread, I've now discovered that, sadly, I probably have no real musical taste whatsoever?! Well? it would certainly seem that I have a very eclectic taste to say the very least? But then again? what do you really expect from someone who grew up listening to the delightful sounds of 'Pinky & Perky' and 'Around The World with Sooty, Harry Corbett & Sweep'?!! - so I think that I must really turn all this around now and credit/blame my Dad entirely! - HA HA HA!!! ;o>

Okay, so the thread asks about CD's and so I've just braved my, as yet, still very small CD collection and I've found out that it all adds up to this.....?

Queen, The Platinum Collection: Greatest Hits I, II & III
A Secret History? The Best Of The Divine Comedy
Singles: Alison Moyet
The Story Of The Clash
Complete Libera - Libera & Luminosa, 2x CD box set -
Pam Ayres, The Collection: They Should Have Asked My Husband, Ancient and Modern & The Broken Woman
The Best Of Eva Cassidy
The Best Of Frank Zappa
The Fureys Finest - with my all time fave piece of music, 'The Lonesome Boatman'
Kendric: The Little Things

Plus - The Annie Lennox Collection, lots of Erasure, The Best of Doris Day, Keane: Hopes and Fears, The Maia Singers: Carols By Candlelight, ABBA: Gold - Greatest Hits, a wonderful CD of 'Together At Christmas' by Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band.....and an old 2x cassette box-set of the musical Chess by Benny Andersson, Tim Rice and Björn Ulvaeus.....!

Oh dear, it's just all sounding even worse now, isn't it?.....I'm so sorry everyone! But at least, I am helping to make you all feel a hell of a lot better about your collections, aren't I?!! :o>

Cornish - don't tell Su you've got 8 David Gray albums, she'll want me to buy the five she hasn't got!

Posted on 31 Jan 2013 14:15:51 GMT
I reckon it's the absence of much respected artists that I have no time for that would raise more eyebrows than the ones that I have. However it might surprise some to know that I do possess the following:
8 Sade albums
8 David Gray albums
4 Catatonia albums
