Why don't the Irish contingent (Northern & Rep.) have a go at doing an all Ireland PPU? Like wot the Scottish mob have done wiv the 'Out To Lunch' meetings. You could hold the first one in Dublin and if it's a goer take it up to Belfast. I've heard both cities have one or to establishments where it's possible to take a drink. I'm sure one or two might make it across the water and join in the revelry.

Well I do know one or two decent pubs in Dublin.

Thanks Monica, but Holyhead's probably further than Dublin for me! I'm in Falkirk - half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. I remember reading in the Guardian last year that rail travel in N.I. and Ireland was now free for visitors over 65. That would be a great advantage once I was there.
My husband and I always meant to go to Ireland but were too hooked on the Hebrides to actually do it. I quite fancy a week or so there when I can afford it. I could do the rounds of the posters!
Post Soviet's still very much around - he does a lot of the Virtual Compilations threads and What Are You Hearing? on Rock.

Meet in the middle. How about The Brass Monkey in Newry (er, if it's still there - it's been two decades!)

Hi monica and thanks for asking, I'm still here(Leitrim & Forums), doing well. Checked your profile, you live nearby Galway? West Coast is fantastic, just ask Cornish. '0)

So who is in Ireland and where? We seem to be quite widely scattered.

I started another thread for Irish interest - 'Emerald Eyes...' so folk have a more obvious point of focus.
