A little disappointed we were about 10 voters short but many thanks to all who participated. I wish you all a happy jubilee 'extra' holiday!

Wow, thanks guys, that was a close race to the finish line, I really do love this tune, particularly love the beginning, in fact I'm a huge fan of Paul Simon.

Re: Floyd, that is in fact my favourite Floyd track, my daughter is a huge Floyd fan and we always sing that track to her. Worthy contenders, again many thanks, Happy Jubilee everyone :)

Luvverlee Jubilee indeed! I'm looking forward to the Thames floating thingy, especially the tallest of the Tall Boats. They do look magificent, those things.

I'm going to Lisbon next month to see the tall ships do their races etc, then maybe to Cadiz for another glimpse (fingers crossed). It's part of the tall ships race route. They make a massive thing of it here - you get to go aboard them and can even join in the sailing (that bit costs a few bob though).

Have seen the Tall Ships 3 times - twice in Liverpool and once in Newcastle. The first L'Pool one was at the Garden Festival. It was so beautiful - the ships were all lit up and rocking gently, there was a firework display and specially composed music which was really atmospheric. It was a wonderful unforgettable experience.
Were you there, telly?

I was at the Newcastle meet back in er, was it the eighties? Yes it was! We'd been aboard a couple of them that were moored facing The Baltic pub on the quayside, and had a beer or two with a lot of the crew members in the evenings preceding the big show. We drove to a high point just west of South Shields to watch them leaving the Tyne for the North Sea. Magnificent is the only word I can use to describe what I saw.

Here in Kernow, they're regularly in and out of the local harbours, but they were all here a few years ago in Falmouth where we had loads more time to board them and chat with the various crews. On the day they left, we were there on the promontory to the West of the harbour and it was so marvellous to see them all coming by before they left our waters to head for their next stop, Funchal, in the mid-Atlantic.

EDIT: PS Lez, that nice J Depp bloke did a load of filming here on one o' them thar proper ships! I bet you wouldn't mind him shiverin' your timbers (if he hasn't already).
