Blastronaut says:
Yeah Neph, I seen the lot of em; enjoyed em too, tho it must be said that I played video games a lot when I wuz a tad younger (still play now but not to a 'competitive' online level) so that may have been an influence. Favourite one by far is the first one, and I love the totally OTT Alice vs Nemesis battle in the second one, but like I says, I enjoyed em all.
If I remember correctly the last one ends with em on a ship with 'attack copters' and the likes pouring fourth?

"My name is Alice, and I remember everything!"

Films : try this masterpiece - The Guard [DVD] and/or In Bruges [DVD]

best film ever - depends on the day..but Withnail and I [DVD] - is beautifully funny and sad - with a terrific soundtrack - high point of which is this
A Whiter Shade Of Pale (Live @ Fillmore West) - never has the burnt out sadness of the late 60s been so well invoked as the start with that sad music and the dismal state of their shared flat.

Just back from seeing The Imposter

Although documentaries are not everyones cup of tea, this is one I'd recommend.
Intriguing, with fascinating twists and marvellously inconclusive.
One to argue about in the pub for hours....
(Not the quality I mean but the "what really happened")

Hi Collette, I'm not so keen on Colin Farrell either but I do own two films that he stars in which are New World, the [Blu-ray] and Alexander Revisited - The Final Cut (2 Disc Special Edition) [2004] [DVD].
He also has smaller roles in Minority Report --Two Disc Set (DTS) [DVD] [2002] and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus [DVD] which I happen to own as well. OMG one may think I'm a fan of his acting now. lol

DL & Collette - after In Bruge I cannot possibly dislike Colin Farrell. Timing and sense of humour perfect.

Dragonlord says:
He is ok but there are many actors I prefer over him.

Mondo Ray says:
I accept that, DL, and while there are certain actors who can enhance a movie with their very presence, I'm generally more the sort who judges a film as a whole, a completed work, taking on board ALL the many and various aspects required, both in front of and behind the finished product. I suppose my heart lies more with the director as artist, whose job it is to bring together the disparate parts that make up the final work.

Having said that and realising how it might sound, I should really add that I do give scores to some actresses. For example, marks out of 1 for Keira Knightley? Yes, I'd definitely give.... :-)
