Hi nocheese - Obviously the prospect of you and me buying it doesn't make it economically viable mate ;-)

Never thought I'd ever see this on CD U I bought it in 72, two years after its release, and it was difficult to find a copy then. Probably never got further than a first print. If you've got one in mint condition you could consider retirement unless you've already retired. Slated by critics and fans but it's become part of my DNA. A double album and now available as a double CD

I remember an old boss of mine moaning about the price of Beatles albums and genuinely being surprised they're even available. I thought a few greatest hits would be it. How times change.

Sparky - re 'Pronto Monto', it's a scandal that it's unavailable on CD. Someone knicked my vinyl copy (not that I've anything to play it on any more anyway).

I never met anyone who'd even heard of them (I lied about the last one).

Brass Neck says:
Metal Machine Music - Lou Reed. And it's remastered for added annoyance and bafflement.

Arc - Neil Young & Crazy Horse - 25 minutes of live feedback and noise utterly without a tune.

I remember seeing Squeeze on cassette once c. 1980 and I almost bought it - I didn't know anything about the album's provenance back then.

Ian Paice claims to have no recollection of the Squeeze sessions - I wouldn't like to suggest that this is a classic case of selective memory. Apart from that how did they manage to rope him in? I did read on Wiki that the name Velvet Underground had to be used for this album at manager Steve Sesnick's insistence due to his gaining a deal with Polydor after reaching the end of their deal with Atlantic (perhaps realising they had a lame duck on their hands, Atlantic allegedly passed on Squeeze in order to release Live at Max's Kansas City so as to get them off the label).

Anyway, good luck BOF - you're a braver man than me, son.

Well I never thought they would release that on CD! Albums you've come across that you never thought would get a release (i.e. most punk & electronica ......................... only joking, calm down at the back).

Squeeze by Velvet Underground

The 'Velvets' album with no original members, basically a Doug Yule solo album (Ian Paice on drums).

Would I buy it? Only at under a 5 just to finish of my VU collection.

best bones
