Just realised, everyone must be doing the same as me most nights and darting about the place trying to have a conversation. Why don't we just have our own thread on which to chat?

I've had a bit of a telly night tonight, watched that new drama White Heat - bit slow, but may pick up - , last episode of Kidnap And Ransom - this is what telly drama should be like all the time, and The Sarah Millican Television Programme, at which I laughed my slippers off.

Hi Mondo, night owling myself. Enjoyed White Heat which I think will get better as more of the older actors come into it. Got through just 10 minutes of Sarah Millican - didn't manage even a smile, seemed to be a rent-a-laugh audience. Remarkably unfunny. Surprised you liked it, Mondo, you seem to have a great sense of humour on the forums. I usually listen to Radio 2 at this time but there's a dreadful man standing in for Janice Long and the unmitigated horror that is Sara Cox at 2.00am.
I'll just have a mug of hot choc drink (low-cal) and listen to Radio 3 in bed.

Evening Mondo, watched Utd lose at home, that was highlight of the day. Forgot that Sarah Millican was on, if it was as good as you say, will watch it on i-player. I'd stop and chat but my eyes are hurting, and I want to stick up a track on juke box jury. Have a good night!

Edit - Evening Lez, "Unmitigated horror" - yeah I think that describes Sara Cox to a tee!

I've always enjoyed Sarah Millican, an unpretentious quick-witted Geordie lass who is so down to Earth. The Beeb clearly like her too (okay, that's not necessarily a good thing), never having had a comedienne present a tv show since the days of Mrs Merton. Her final quip, "Snog, Marry, Avoid; or as I like to call it - Top Gear," was priceless. But to ask wildlife presenter Chris Packham, "Okay, what's the best way to kill a spider?" had both Ali (my wife) and I chortling into our cocoa.

Actually, that's a fib, but, "chortling into our alcoholic drinks of choice" doesn't have the same ring to it!

Maybe Millican is a Geordie thing. My (Scottish) wife said, "Where's the subtitles?" at one point, "Rewind that!" at another, and "Whaa?" at least thrice. But she, too, thinks Sarah is hilarious.

Didn't watch the footie because (a) I'm not a massive footie fan and (b) see (a)

Bit of trivia - Barry Manilow's I Write The Songs was written by Bruce Johnston of the Beach Boys.

So, it would have been more honest of Barry to sing "He writes the songs", hmmmmmmm

I've just put a link up for the Voca People on the JBJ thread, but I should've put it here. It's a lovely bit of fun. I think I already sent it to John awhile ago, but hey, a smile's worth sharing... http://youtu.be/N6EYrqIn0yI
