Where did my download go?

I downloaded the MP3 player and bought one track - but neither seems to be working.

The player wouldn't upload and now I can't even find it - as it only seems to launch when a new track is purchased. The message stated - check internet connection - but I am definitely connected.

Help!

I have just downloaded one too, but no where to be found.

Mine won't download either. However, you can locate your downloads if they've worked, from your "My Music" folder, where there should be a new folder "Amazon MP3".

The downloads & download application seem to work best on IE Explorer and Firefox. The tracks, especially singles, download VERY quickly and they may have already been saved into your "My Music" or "My Documents" folder by default (you need to specify where tracks are downloaded in the download application).

Have a look down in the bottom right hand corner of your task bar to see if there is a new greenish icon there, hover the mouse over it and right click open, you may find your tracks hidden there?

Failing that do contact Amazon customer support, I'm sure they'll help you very quickly & the solution may be simpler than you think. Crossed fingers, I've downloaded dozens of tracks & albums and had no problems as yet. Good Luck!!

I use firefox for pretty much everything, but it doesn't seem to do the trick on this side of things. I think I'm just going to have to get it off iTunes =(
Waiting for a response from Amazon!
Thanks for your advice.

I downloaded a few single tracks without Amazons downloader.
They still downloaded pretty quickly using firefox.
I learnt that when a box appears asking you which program you would like to open the track with, click 'save file' instead of selecting a program.
When the download finishes you can open the containing folder, this tells you where the track has gone then you can move it to your own folder.
I hope this makes sense!

Its really not difficult from the amazon downloader it saves the tracks to a new folder on your computer called "amazon mp3's" just look for that on your computer and hey presto

its easy, you buy the songs you want, i use firefox on a mac, use the amazon downloader opens up in a separate window, you can chose where the music downloads to either itunes library or amazing mp3 file folder and it adds it to itunes for you automatically, easy peasy

Just double click. If it doesn't work contact cutomer support.
My album didn't get a download link. I contacted support and within 30 minutes I was given a link with all the track download lists.
Very quick and helpful response!

Thanks for the advice. The Mp3 downloader is not showing up as a icon and I cannot locate anything in my documents or my music. I will just have to contact customer service - I jus thought I'd check in on the forum first as I have contacted customer services in the past regarding other Amazon issues and have no response whatsoever - but then that was a few years ago - so they might be better staffed now!

Here goes.

Thank you everyone.

I did my first Download Purchase today. I purchased an album and Installed the Amazon MP3 Downloader on my Apple Computer. The MP3 Downloader software user interface has four switches, Pause Downloads, Resume Downloads, Reveal in Finder and Clear Completed. I have not been able to find a switch in the MP3 Downloader or 'Your Account > Where's My Stuff? >' called 'Download Purchases'. So the question is how do you download a purchase? I have emailed Amazon but had no reply as yet?
Does anybody know how to do it?

Have tried your suggestion. On my computer it very definitely does not work!

Don't get how people are having soo many problems? you download the amazon mp3 downloader this will install on your computer even though it may not be obvious it does not have a desktop icon etc then purchase a track / album from the site and after you have paid the download should start automatically it will then put your downloaded music into a new folder on your computer called Amazon MP3 which in windows vista is located in the Music Folder.

Amazon does not list in my Windows Media Player, or in iTunes. If I delete the Amazon Downloader and then re-load, perhaps that will work or at least be worth a try.

Thanks Guys.
All resolved now, with egg on face. I thought I had changed my payment method when purchasing the download but it didn't register with Amazon. I've looked again and there doesn't appear to be a way of changing the payment method of a Download 'Open Order'.
I simply placed another order using a payment method acceptable to Amazon and the purchase downloaded automatically.

Well I bought a mp3 download using my Blackberry. I didn't get the option to download the file then, so I've gone on line on my PC hoping to find a way. I did receive an e-mail confirming the purchase, but no apparent way of receiving it. Any ideas anyone, please?

I tried to download a file. It seemed to work OK, but no sign of file. I eventually figured out it should be in the 'Amazon MP3' file on my computer, but this only contained a .tmp file. The Troubleshooting page said use the Mp3 downloader to try again, and it did, but then said 'track no longer available'. Bit ridiculous seeing as they only sold it to me yesterday! I'm sure there will be a solution from customer support v. soon, but still, this download business has made me waste a lot of time compared to just buying a CD, as I suspected it would!

If you can't find a downloaded track there is the search box click the windows start icon in the bottom left screen type in the start search box what you are looking for.
Personally I download a file from Amazon and immediately move it to somewhere I can find it
