When listening to Elton John songs please realize he was not born gay ---nobody is (mygenes.co.nz)--and identical twins only having one homosexual among them proves it.

Ever thought the reason you have so many issues in your own bedroom could be linked to your obsession with what other people do in theirs?

If sexuality isn't something you're born with, how come gay porn doesn't make me hard?

(to the man who started this tawdry thread(bare):) Which of the twins are you?
Is there any research on whether twins are born equally prurient, or it develops later?

What has Elton John's sexuality got to do with his music?

Surely identical twins having only one homosexual (and only one heterosexual) among them just proves that no one is born straight?

So you think someone would choose to be gay - to choose to be vilified by most of society - confused by what they feel and what society says they should be - they choose to be gay so they can be tortured - burnt - jailed - castrated (forcible sex changes in Iran for example). Oh yes being gay is certainly a choice. Being gay is just one part of the whole curve of sexuality - people are attracted to all ends of the scale - there is no choice only biological imperatives involved. Why would you want to hold a view which whatever reason someone is gay - has nothing to do with you and doesn't affect you - why would you choose to make their lives more difficult than it might already be. what kind of person are YOU?

I've reported this as an offensive thread - Crawl back into your swamp you muppet

Whether or not this thread is offensive depends ENTIRELY on your perspective. Just because you don't agree doesn't mean it's inherently offensive. So any injunctions to crawl away into swamps could be just as easily applied in the other direction.

MC Zaptone says:
DG, are you honestly postulating that homosexuality is a mindset and nobody is born Gay? And what does a pattern of behaviour mean within this context?

Posted on 30 Jul 2013 23:08:28 BDT
DG says:
Of course I am, and that's nothing new, I'm certainly not the first to "postulate" this idea. And a pattern of behavior in this context means the same thing as in any other, exactly what it says it is.

I agree that this post is offensive, not however because of the views of the original post, everyone should be free to express their views freely. It is offensive because it discusses the sexuality of a named individual rather than expressing a general view. Also, as others have mentioned, this is a music post and therefor not the best place for this discussion. Finally, supposing the person who started this discussion listens to classical music, does it ever occur to him to question whether JS Bach or Handel were gay?

The only discussion I can see as relevant for this forum would be whether homosexuality is linked to musical creativity.

Surely all intelligent, well balanced people would simply not care whether a composer, musician or pop personality was, or stated, he or she was gay, straight or bisexual - unless planning to have a sexual relationship with the individual.

By the way, I prefer the music of Queen to that of Elton John. Oh God! You don't think one of them could have been gay!

Creationists are an evolutionary dead end.

'It is offensive because it discusses the sexuality of a named individual' - Sir Elt must be gutted now the news has leaked on an Amazon forum, wonder if David Furnish was aware? ;¬)

The OP is not offensive IMO as it does not pass any judgement, either positive or negative as a result of the subject's self-acknowledged sexual orientation (he came out in 75 or 76, disoriented me somewhat as a major fan in those rather different times and prevailing mores). Those taking offence may be inferring intent on the part of the poster but if you look at the words on the page ....... The whole thing is pointless and the most reasonable reaction is yawn, yeah, so what? Those complaining to zon had best not hold their breath waiting for the thread or Man of truth to be removed on the grounds of offensiveness.

The ignorance shown by MoT; DG et al is offensive in the extreme but I wouldn't know quite who to blame!

Ha ha, "offensive in the extreme." Intolerant, hypocritical crybabies. Dare to allow a differing point of view! (Goodness knows you demand it of everyone else.) :)

P.S. My daddy never left home, he's a great guy! Thanks for your concern, though I won't be needing it.
