I thought I would start a thread about my crafts and writing.
I enjoy painting, embroidery, photography, blogging.
At the moment I am working on a moorland scene. I started this a few weeks ago when I was ill. I was inspired by something a friend wrote. It helped me to focus on something other than feeling ill. I was unable to write at the time, as the computer affected my eyesight.
I will post a link to it shortly.
I can now write for a while on the computer and my new novel is almost writing itself. A break from it has been benificial.

Your Lives In Our Hands: Based on true stories from a retired hospital doctor
Hello Carol,
It looks like you are a multi talented lady! Best wishes for your efforts on all fronts.
When you get bored with the painting or writing, why not read the above book, a fabulous collection of captivating short stories based on true incidents the author had come across as a Surgical trainee. You may not see swear words and bids for cheap laughter in the book but there will be subtle humour, tales of gladness and sadness, all in appropriate doses.
Go on. Read the book and post a review.(8 reviews so far, all 5 stars!)

I've just written a blog about one of my dogs who died last year. The blog can be accessed through my website, www.carolarnall.com.
I've been keeping my mind occupied with writing my new novel, and various craft projects.
Earlier this year I planted five wild flower mats. Many of the flowers will be in flower soon. It will be a welcome splash of colour. I planted some scabious a couple of weeks ago and the bees are enjoying visiting it.
In the back garden I have pots of daisies, heartsease, pansies, scabious and a few others. Everywhere out there is looking very pretty. Apart from when Sophie, my dog. sticks her nose in them!

It's been a while since I posted here.
I've just received another fab review for my book The Other Place 77p on Kindle. It's also available in paperback.
Here's the latest review.
Enjoyable story, cleverly woven plot. I loved the way that although many loose ends get tied up, the reader is still left wondering :-)

I forgot to include this in my earlier post!
The Other Place
Chrissie James is a troubled soul: with family problems, unexplained phobias and a stalker to contend with, she seeks help with a hypnotherapist. Whilst in therapy, Chrissie discovers she has led a past life.
Will living a previous life help Chrissie to discover the truth of what caused her fears and phobias, and will she find out who is stalking her?
The Other Place is a paranormal mystery. Its many twists and turns will keep you guessing to the very end.

A great start to my Sunday, my left eye is almost back to normal now. It's not nearly as painful now. My fingers are crossed that this improvement continues, and I can leave the illness behind.
For the first time this year a butterfly visited our garden. There haven't been many around in our area at all. I managed to take some photographs of it on the Scabious.
First thing this morning my book went too Number one in New Age Reincarnation, 2 & 3 in the other catergories. I also received another excellent review.
My new novel is coming along. I have been spending time editing the first chapters.
I'm also planning a new painting and embroidery.
All in all a brilliant morning.

My novel The Other Place was at number in the reincarnation cat this morning and number 2 in the other categories. It was a great start to the day.
My wild flower garden is continuing to look beautiful. I'm a little concerned about the storms that they say might arrive today or tomorrow. The daisies and cornflowers are very tall and any heavy rain will smash them down.
I'm collecting seeds from my foxgloves to plant for next year.
I've managed to bring my latest novel back on track.

I'm a third of the way through my new novel, and busy editing it.
My novel The Other Place is at number 1 in New Age Reincarnation. I know the books are constantly moving up and down the rankings, but it is nice when they go high in the rankings.
We've added another two new water features this week to the back garden. Hopefully it will be a beautiful area by this time next year.

It's been a long time since I've posted here.
I'm pleased to say that in December my latest novel The House of Psychics will be published. I have an excellent proofreader who will be giving it a final check. Anyone wanting his email address just contact me.
I'm busing making a throw for my bed. I'm using some beautiful material it's covered in wild flowers. I actually bought it from Amazon. I think you can buy almost anything from Amazon now.

I have been busy cutting butterflies out for my throw and will scatter them across it when it's sewn together.
I thought I would give one of my novels a small mention. The Haunting of Kate Somner
After a reading from Gary, a clairvoyant, Kate Somner's life changes forever.
Her husband Ben disappears in unusual circumstances.
She loses her job,her home, and her friends.
As if all the above isn't bad enough, Kate begins experiencing time slips which take her back to the 1960s. Here, she "sees" Sheila, who is living in the same flat that Kate now lives in. Is there a connection between the two women?
Kate revisits Gary, hoping that he will be able to help her.
Will Gary help Kate find her missing husband?
Will she unravel the mystery of the time slips?
The Haunting of Kate Somner is a supernatural mystery full of intrigue, secrets and deception.

I thought I would update my thread. It's not long now until the big day. I still have lots to do it's all part of the fun though. Having workmen around is quite disruptive but hopefully they will finish their work by the end of next week. We're also reorganising the house, so there's not much time for writing or blogging either.

Work on the house has come to a sudden halt, due to the weather and other problems. I decided it's an ideal opportunity to return to my latest novel. I've had it professionally edited and I'm now busy implementing certain changes.

I've rewritten a couple of chapters of my latest novel. Today I intend reading it.
Scaffolding has been erected at the front of the house. The men arrived at 7.30 a.m. There are no workmen here. I haven't a clue if anyone is going to carry on with the work today.
I have decided to paint and embroider a new picture this weekend. I find it pays to leave my writing to one side for a few days. It helps recharge my batteries!

I do hope everyone had a good Christmas.
We're just getting back to normal. I have a couple of paintings and embroideries underway.
I'm also checking through my novel. I've been let down by someone who promised to check something out for me. Not that I'm bothered, I can get it checked out elsewhere.
Have also been catching up on some reading during the holidays.

Happy New Year to one and all.
This holiday always passes far too quickly for me. It's a wonderful time of the year.
After the new year there is such a lot to catch up on. It's always a busy, busy time.
Now it's back to writing. Hopefully I will be in a position to publish my latest novel soon.
In the meantime my other books are available on kindle and a few are also available in paperback from Amazon or via my website.

I'm pleased to say that my new novel The House of Psychics will hopefully be published the last week in January.
Here's the write up.
Alone and pregnant after her husband deserts her, Dee Winster vows to make a success of her life.
She starts a psychic consultancy but soon realises that beneath its calm exterior, jealousy and scheming abound.
Dee has a secret she is reluctant to share with anyone-that is until David, a spiritualist medium and past-life therapist, joins her team and befriends her.
Will David prove to be a trustworthy and helpful companion for Dee to share her secret with? Will she solve the problems that threaten to destroy her company?
The House of Psychics is a novel of mystery and intrigue with many unexpected twists and turns.

Thanks very much, Cath! At long last I'm nearly there with my book. I'm so excited. It's just a good job that I didn't go for preorder on Amazon, I'd have been months out.
Hope things are okay with you.

Still suffering from the effects of shingles, Carol. My book is selling well though, despite the higher price. I'll reduce it once sales drop off. Loads of my fans now shouting for a fourth book, so I'm considering it although I promised myself a rest after number three. I haven't indulged in my other passion, painting, for almost two years. Just writing. I am going to renovate a property I own. It was our office and place of business when my husband was alive. After he died, someone set fire to the building, so it's a burnt out wreck. I will need to free up equity on this house to get the money, but its quite exciting. Problem is getting workmen. We hear there's no work, but ever tried to get a tradesman?

carol arnall says:
It takes a while to get over shingles Cath but the good thing is that you do. Hope the after effects leave you soon.
Yes, I run short sales on my books now and again. It seems to get the selling again.
Tradesmen? We have suffered terribly since moving the other year. It's very stressful trying to find dependable builders and the like. If they're late showing for the first appointment they make to come and see you or cancel and make a new one. Forget them, they're going to be unreliable workers. I so dislike the ones who come and start a job and then disappear for a few days and then come back. It drives me nuts.
We still have jobs waiting to be done but I'm having a rest away from them.
Most of them round here like travelling to the very big jobs. This is were they make the most money. Some even travel to London. Good luck.

I've now changed the music on my Birmingham Girls video. I've also changed the profile photographs on my Twitter profile. Having been busy learning new things on the social networks I decided to alter my website. I've always found website building quite complicated. I've been making a few alterations to my home page. I realise a lot more needs to be done to it.
Web and blog site accessible through clicking on my profile.
