Yes, there's a lot less room in the US Top 100, too. As of today 14 of Ed MacBain's 87th Precinct stories are in the list. Also spotted that the whole series has been bought up by A's own publishing arm Mercer and Mercer. Must be quite a few publishers with long back lists salivating right now!

Tougher times ahead for indie authors?

Best wishes

Seb

p.s. The review if fabulous!

Hi

One relief, though perhaps only temporary. There doesn't appear to be any sign of the Ed McBain books on Kindle in the UK as yet!

Best wishes

Hi

Just checking on the Ed McBain releases in the US. Seems like it's calming down a little. Just two McBain titles in the Top 100!

Best wishes

You'll be catching up, slowly perhaps but surely!
For the many new friends who downloaded Vintage Murder (Robbie Cutler diplomatic mysteries), here is the second in my diplomatic mystery series - Murder On The Danube (Robbie Cutler Diplomatic Mysteries). It's set in Budapest - just the thing to orient you for your next real (or armchair) Danube cruise!

Just received my first review for the short stories Fried Fox & English Rat (Alec Fincham Short Stories):

4.0 out of 5 stars Short Stories - makes you want more, 19 Jan 2012
By B S ROBINSON (Bolton Lancashire) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Fried Fox & English Rat (Alec Fincham Short Stories) (Kindle Edition)
Excellent lead up in both stories that have whetted my appetite and made me want to explore further Alec Fincham adventures. The Fried Fox story could have had a twist at the end as it seemed to end too suddenly after such a good build up. Will read some more.

Pleased with that one - looking at making the twist in a follow up story.

Looking forward to that new twist.

Yes, Vintage Murder (Robbie Cutler diplomatic mysteries)is really starting to catch on, after that giveaway. I gather that really does pay for itself in terms of increased author recognition. I hope readers will enjoy Murder On The Danube (Robbie Cutler Diplomatic Mysteries) as well. It's a stand alone novel, but there are some developments that readers of the first book in the series will savor. Like Robbie's misbehavior in Budapest! Fortunately, his sister sets him straight!

My book about the last white police officer in a failing ex-British colony on the brink of civil war, will enlighten and entertain. It's set in West Africa during the scary sixties with the KGB, CIA, MI6, Mossad, and BOSS all competing to gain a breakthrough in weapons technology. It's available in Kindle and paperback format too.

A new political thriller, also set in West Africa, will be out in the Spring.

The Depths of Deception (16 five-star reviews)

"Intelligent, compelling..." "Hauntingly beautiful." "Well written, brilliantly executed."

"Exceptional ALMOST Captures How Good this book is!"

America has disappeared some years ago. A neo-fascist Party has come to power in the UK. China is on the rise. A submarine hurtles through the cold dark waters of the Atlantic en route to an unknown destination. Only the ship's doctor knows its true mission, but he is not who he appears to be.

A sweeping tale moving from the violent heart of Apartheid South Africa, to the ruins of the United Kingdom, and down to the edge of the world in the frozen Antarctic landscape, The Depths of Deception is a tale of revenge, served as a shatteringly cold dish.

"An adventure tale on the order of LeCarre's The Spy Who Came in from the Cold..."

"...one of the most remarkable books I've ever had the pleasure of reading"

Alison Buck says:
Hi Seb, hello everyone ;-)

ABIDING EVIL - is a chilling supernatural horror thriller, but not a gore-fest.

A group of friends and their children travel to a newly re-opened hotel that lies a mile or so within the boundaries of a vast, ancient forest. Cut off by an unexpected and powerful early snowstorm they soon realise that the almost impenetrable forest surrounding them is hiding a dark, abiding malevolence.
And it is hunting them.
Battling the deep snow, poorly equipped and with no communication or hope of help from the world beyond the trees, the friends are thrown into a desperate and terrifying fight for survival.

In 18 ✭✭✭✭✭ reviews (Amazon UK and US), Abiding Evil has been described as:

"A SUPERB READ"
"AMAZING, ENTICING, WITH WONDERFUL IMAGERY"
"BEST BOOK I'VE READ IN AGES"
"THE BEST HORROR I HAVE READ IN YEARS"
"AN INCREDIBLY SPOOKY READ"
"SUPERB HORROR, WONDERFULLY WRITTEN"
"I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!"
"THIS NOVEL TOTALLY BLEW ME AWAY"

Enjoy ;-)

The Fast Lane Just Got Faster!
Dr Benjamin Pittman reviews
LE MANS a novel (RUTHLESS TO WIN) by Dakota Franklin
5.0 out of 5 stars

"The excitement was palpable and the tensions, utterly biblical in scale."

"Faster and more intense than any race, passion explodes for both Mallory and Richard; two peas in different pods, who needed to meet each other."

"It's nail-biting stuff as the race circuit becomes littered with shattered vehicles, ambitions and careers."

"LE MANS has it all - thriller, mystery, factual insights into the blood and bones of car design and racing and an exciting adventure in the ultra fast lane. More please!"

Is it the second in a series begun with TNM, or something entirely different, Seb?
