Thanks for the thread. My novel, Tree Soldier is set in the Great Depression when the economy was not only ruined, but the environment also suffered from tearing up the prairies 50 years before and overlogging. It won teh 2012 EPIC ebook award for historical Fiction.

The memoir is well written, with a compelling story that carried me along steadily. I like to find at least one reviewing pinprick, although it's difficult this time. The book ends with a cliff-hanger, making me wonder what came next. In all, I cannot recommend this memoir highly enough.-The Kindle Book Review

Thanks for the platform to promote. Looking for that amusing read to take with you on holiday? Look no further as THE FAT BAG stuck between a rock cake & a hard plaice by author Pearl Barley is just the thing!

This is an extremely funny little book. The title alone should start you off. The tales within trace the writer's lifelong struggle, citing the pitfalls and stumbling blocks she has encountered in trying to lose weight and, more importantly, keep it off.

There are times of triumph trying out another 'new' diet, but she always puts the weight back on. She never gives up though and the diary-like entries tell it like it REALLY is for those of us who can relate to her frustrations.

There's a light-hearted way to the telling of each tale. Chuckle at chapters entitled ... "This Little Piggie Went to Town" ... "All Menus Are Not Created Equal" ... "Who Said Less Is More?" and ... "My Cup Runneth Over".

But by no means is it a tale of woe. There are no quick-fixes, granted, nor any reasonable advice, but the truth is laid bare in a quirky, amusing way and has been described as "sheer enjoyment" "with an entertainment factor brought to life in the pages".

Easily relateable, many have... "Been There, Done That, & Bulged Out of the Tee Shirt", everything is just so... "Finger-Lickin' Good" but as the old saying goes..."What Don't Kill Will Fatten"!

Reviewers describe it as "...down-to-earth, honest and hilarious!"

In this book are tales/chronicles/diary entries, all true although maybe in some cases slightly exaggerated according to how much humour I could squeeze from any given situation...but true none-the-less.

I've never seen a book about dieting that didn't give advice. In fact, I've never seen a dieting book that is written from the prospective of the struggling dieter, so I wrote one myself.

All the experts say "eat less and move more. Obviously it's not rocket science but it might as well be for those of us in "the real world" who struggle with our weight every day and for whom poor will-power (and other factors) take over and smash our personal resolve to shreds when battling the bulge.

I do hope you enjoy the down-to-earth, telling-it-like-it-is-with-no-frills entries and I especially hope you will laugh along to a issue that I know many can relate to.

Only the Innocent reached the #1 spot on Amazon a couple of months ago, and stayed there for quite a while - until along game The Hunger Games and then Fifty Shades of Grey!

It's a psychological thriller, and I'm supposed to be in the process of writing the next one, rather than chatting on forums! Oops!
