I've built up about £650 worth of Amazon vouchers. Any ideas on what the best laptop deal available on amazon uk for video editing would be?

Try looking at this Acer Aspire 5750G 15.6 inch Notebook (Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor, 4 GB RAM , 640 GB HDD, DVD-Super Multi DL drive, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) - Black it seem about right for your budget and purpose and the reviews suggest it is a stellar performer for it's price. Hope this helps!

Beware, Windows 7 rejects a lot of not so very old software, and to run a virtual PC with virtual XP requires Win 7 Pro

I too, would like to know how you get Amazon vouchers as I buy a fair bit from Amazon and have never been offered or seen anything about vouchers.

Wouldnt fancy trying to edit on a 15" screen - 17 is a must and even thats too small. Also the min spec if you were using Adobe premiere for example would be a 7200rpm hard drive. on a seperate note - I would also avoid a solid state drive as it has only a limited number of times you can write to it - video editing does this constantly.

I see you get an immediate 15% off what you are buying at the time but do you get discounts for future purchases? Living in a very rural area with very few shops I do buy a lot from Amazon and have thought about their Cr Card but never really gone into it.
Margie.

What would you recommend for Adobe Premier 6.5 or Sony Vegas Pro 9.0? Currently I am using a Toshiba Equium which I got 2nd Hand running Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP3 Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.46GHz, 1.99 RAM I have too many programs on it already. I would like a faster laptop with more speed and less clutter. I am only using the Sony Pro Vegas 9.0 (and Adobe Photoshop CS) on this machine and not using it very much as it seems very complicated and slow on this laptop.
I am not a professional, just learning how to make video's, but I have enough at the moment to get a new laptop in £500 - £750 range so any useful advice would be appreciated

Yeah it looks like it would do what I need, I would prefer it to have more RAM and after looking at all these laptops on a laptop I feel I need to see them 'in the flesh' so to speak, so maybe spend a day looking at real laptops and see what the price difference is if any, then decide.
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I am also attempting to turn professional in the photography world. I need a good laptop (around £300-£500) for editing music videos and photos. Can someone please advise on video and image editing software aswell?
-Also preferably any laptops that come preinsatalled with Adobe would help, however all i've seen is the HP Envy 17 and it's a little bit pricey.
