Another daft question, can I change screensavers on my kindle, or add new ones?

No, you can't.

Sorry!

I also suggest you search the forum as most questions have been dealt with before so you'll find a nice instant answer.

If you look up previous threads on this you will find that apparantly no, it is not possible, at least on the older Kindle keyboard. Whether the newer models have this facility I don't know, but I doubt it. Just shut your eyes until you have turned it on!

Officially ; No. - But there are people who have done this their one way if you search around - Doing this also VOID's any warranty on the Kindle.

CBRetriever says:
nope it's not possible on the newer ones either - I believe that amazon had so many calls, complaints, etc for the 1 kindle that had it as an option (1st generation) that they deliberately dropped it from subsequent releases

or so the oldbies tell me

Lucy Lou says:
Yes, you can.

You can search google for "Kindle Jailbreak" for the info. The mobileread website is very good for such info. As others have said it does change the software so therefore voids the warranty, but who checks the software on a busted Kindle?

It works, I did mine some 18 months ago and never had an issue.

J. H says:
Apparently it does not work on K4 or K5, and I would never suggest anyone go against their T&C's. Its foolhardy over something so unimportant.

Knightmare says:
It is very easy to do, I have the KK3G and I had no problem doing the jailbreak and I'm not techy in any way, shape or form. There are a list of instructions to follow so you can't really go wrong. As previously pointed out though, it does void the warranty, so I waited until my warranty had expired before doing it. You can even use your own photographs as screensavers, although I've found they do tend to get a bit stretched to fit the screen.

Do a quick search on Google and you will easily find a site that will tell you how to do the jailbreak.
