Why can't they get the listing up, yet again? I think I've probably spotted a lot of the books (lots of books that have been on offer before, a couple I've bought).

I'm sure others will disagree but I have to say I'm very disappointed with the May deals, there seems to be much more non fiction than usual and nothing exciting among the fiction there is.

I agree,if I see any more M.C.Beaton books on offer I'll scream.
Do Amazon own the rights to these books because they seem to be rammed down our throats at every opportunity?

Damaskcat says:
M C Beaton owns the rights to them! I think we see a lot of them because there are a lot of them and they are very popular. She has written over a hundred books - both crime and historical fiction.

I found quite a few non-fiction books in this month's deals which I wanted. I find some months are better than others but I'm sure everyone does. The selection isn't going to please all of the people all of the time.

Good for the neglected non-fiction fans

There wasn't much for me this month, but in fairness, I've already got, or have read some of them, including the Beatons. I don't tend to find monthly daily deals as interesting as the big sales, but I'm sure that goes for a lot of people.

One thing I have noticed is that this month's list has been cut down to 91 books and so has the price limit. It used to be £2.99 and the extra pound allowed a greater variety of higher quality books through. The books are still out there, but not on the same handy little list. It's worth keeping an eye on other sources of information; if I relied solely on the monthly deals, I'd miss out on some bargains.

If she has written hundreds of them, I may as well not bother to browse the monthly deals for the duration as I have an inkling of what maybe in store. It's such a let down, especially when looking forward to a nice little reading treat.

M.C.Beaton's reign.

Damaskcat says:
Hundreds is a slight exaggeration actually - between 150 and 200.

Apart from Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth - the crime series - the historical novels were mainly published many years ago and are now gradually reappearing as e-books which is probably why you see so many of them as daily deals or monthly deals. Even if you don't like them many people do and it seems silly to me to avoid the deals when there are plenty of other authors who feature regularly.

I know you are quite right, cutting my nose off to spite my face is silly. But like a big kid waiting for Christmas, it's disappointing when all you get is tangerine and nuts again. This month's deals seem like nuts and tangerines. :)
