Bookie says:
Thanks all. Spotted this and thought it looks good;

'The greatest threat to the existence of mankind is the genetically mutated virus for which there is no vaccine and it is this supposition that British thriller writer Heath Buckley follows in his stunning new novel. When fire destroys a Ministry of Defence laboratory in the English countryside a deadly airborne virus codenamed AB1 is released into the local community. As the situation spirals out of control, the virus approaches London. Will a vaccine be found in time and what is the truth behind AB1?
From a small town newspaper office to 10 Downing Street, from BBC News Centre to The White House, from the suburbs of South London to CDC Atlanta, this fast paced, exciting and sometimes terrifying story is a dangerously prescient tale of our times'.

Social history, Liverpool:

Enterprise: The Barnes Papers 1836-1845

In the 1830s John Gorell Barnes of Ashgate near Chesterfield sent his sons to Liverpool to learn the mercantile trade. This is a selection of their letters, telling the story of his sons' experiences in setting up business in Liverpool and Port Phillip, and illustrating the characters of some members of the family, their relationships, and what life was like for a businessman in the mid 19th century.

Lilian says:
Thank you everybody :-) I've taken four so far today and it would have been five, but when I 'looked inside' Digging For Death' I found that there was a page full of what I assume are printers' references, and if not then I don't know what they are. They make the book impossible to read of course as they are inserted into the story!
The four I have taken are...
Cafe du Jour
Of Broken Things
Chocolate Reality
The Folly
Very different choices, but I do like to give different genres a try :-) x

celticgirl says:

Try Ken McClure and Richard Mabry - both of them write medical thriillers and both appear as freebies quite often.

Currently Donor: Steven Dunbar book 1 is 85pence - I haven't added a click as it's not free but is easy to find

and PESTILENCE is free, as is Syndrome

Hope this helps
