Screens

Hi
Can anyone tell me he difference in screens.I have the kindle 2 International and am really weighing up buying the kindle touch and whether it is worth the upgrade
I have had it since January 2010 have dropped it once in the garden in the summer so it has a slight bump in the corner and a hairline crack by the page turn button but apart from that it really seems ok
It does drain quicker if I barge from the socket rather than the laptop but maybe that's just me making excuses for a new model! :)

I would really just like to know if there is much of a difference in the display

J. Chisholm, I don't think there will be many people in the UK with the Kindle 2 so you may be better posting this question in the .com forum.

There are some good things about the Touch but if you find the reading experience on the K2 meets all your needs then any improvement in the quality of the screen has to be worth at least £109 to you and probably more as you'll almost certainly want a cover for it.

It's a "roundabouts and swings" situation as far as I'm concerned. Neither the Touch or the Keyboard K3 are perfect for me and some of the things I like about the K3, such as the Voice Guide and the progress bar, are missing on the Touch, but I've gained X-Ray amongst other things (although the vast majority of my ebooks don't support it). In buying one I've taken 3 steps forward and 2 steps back.

Am I happy I've bought the Touch? Certainly. It's an exellent piece of kit and well worth the money.

I love my kk3g but when it packs up I think I will go for a touch. I believe from reading articles and reviews (yes I'm sad I read tech sites) the Kk3g has a better screen than the kindle 2 and the touch has an even sharper screen again but only marginally. Hope you get what you want!!
