How do I guarantee new books will go to the Kindle Fire (is registered)

in the drop down list under the purchase button it will have a drop down list of any kindle devices/apps registered to your account. You can then choose your Fire there (will probably be called something like Lizc's Kindle Fire)

If you have only one Kindle device or app they will go to that one.

If you register a second Kindle device or app to your account you will find a new roll down menu underneath the Buy It button on all e-book pages. You must select the device or app you want the book to go to and indicate your choice BEFORE you click on the Buy It button.

The default is the top of the list. If you forget to make a choice your book will go to the Kindle device at the top.

It is wise if the other device from yours is going to be read by a child or elderly (shockable) person that you change the name so that your Kindle will be at the top of the list.

Amazon names Kindles registered by them to the Christian or given first name of the account holder - thus Liz's Kindle No. 1 and Liz's Kindle No. 2. Liz's Kindle no. 1 would be at the top.

You can change the names of the Kindles - to Liz's Kindle and John's kindle (son or partner) = you will notice that will bring the child's or partner's Kindle to the top of the list. Just add the letter A in front of your name ie ALliz's Kindle.

I have added a Z to the front of my Kindle fire - ie. ZKath's Kindle Fire so it comes at the bottom of the list - I don't keep a lot of e-books on my Kindle Fire.

Go to your Accounts page and click on Manage my Kindle - on that page look on the left for a link to Manage my Devices - find the Kindle you want to change the name of and click on Edit.

Type in new name and click on update.

You now have to wait a little while and then connect the relevant Kindle to WiFi and as you watch the new name will appear at top left corner of the Kindle's screen.

If of course the other Kindle is used by someone with a given name starting with letter M - Z. (lower alphabetical that L for Liz -you don't need to add the A to the front of your name.
