Kindle Reading App for IPAD

Just tried to download and install the Kindle reading app for the IPAD. Its a shame it will not run on the IPAD 1 as this app requires OS 6 and IPAD 1 will only update to OS 5.1.1.

It would have helped to have this on the IPAD 1 to give it a bit of life.

Do you have any devices or apps registered? If not, do you have a computer? If so download the desktop kindle program, register that to your account, then any book you buy will appear when you login to read.amazon.com on your ipad. Unfortunately I think you need at least one device/app/program registered to buy a book, I may be wrong though....

Sorry, GJ, but Apple have decided that your device is out of date and its not worth their effort on providing an update to a latest version of the operating system. You will need to buy a new one. That is the Apple approach.

As the hardware of tablets gets better every year (so the hardware is lasting longer than 2 or 3 years), you may want to consider your next purchase very carefully, and look for one that can provide a minimum of 10 years of software support...

However Amazon do have the option to allow people to install the last version compatible with their device, but have not chosen that route...so in this case it is AZ that has decided the iPad1 is out of date, as far as dedicated apps that is.

Amazon have decided they do not want to support iOS 5. The app belongs to Amazon. Only Amazon can provide the app. Apple have nothing to do with it.
Nasty Amazon.

Download Amazon Cloud Reader to read your books on iPad.

:-) Just a smile!! Two sides to every story :-)

But as all the other apps I use have updated then there is only one side to the story. :-)
The app no longer works on earlier version...like many things don't like XP.
