Same as for books - touch on title until menu appears and select delete.

Pat, start the browser, tap the three bar Menu button in the top right hand corner, then Browser Settings and you have the option to Clear History there.

I have previously deleted books from my Kindle in the way suggested above, but the delete function has disappeared from the menu that appears when I touch and hold the title. Any ideas?

Thanks

Jayne

Denis Powell says:
Have you tried restarting it?

In reply to an earlier post on 10 Feb 2013 20:05:44 GMT
Ellie says:
I do turn it off every time I use it by holding the button down at the bottom for a few seconds. Is that what you mean?

In reply to an earlier post on 10 Feb 2013 20:17:36 GMT
@Ellie: Your PW should go to sleep automatically when you stop using it. You don't need (and it's generally better not to) push any buttons.

Restarting usually means pressing and holding the power switch in for a slow count of 30, then go make a cup of tea and let it come back to life and sort itself out. It often looks like it's ready to go very quickly - leave it alone for 10 minutes and 99% of bugs, niggles and "eeks" seem to just disappear.

Ellie says:
Hi thanks for the suggestion but, no, this didn't work. The menu appears when I touch and hold the book title, it just doesn't have the delete option anymore.

In reply to an earlier post on 11 Feb 2013 12:42:42 GMT
Damaskcat says:
The last option listed on the menu IS the delete function - it may say delete from device/move to archive etc. but it still means delete.

What Menu options are you seeing?

P. Talbot says:
my menu says remove from device and then sends the book to the cloud. I cant delete it from there either

In reply to an earlier post on 14 Mar 2013 16:37:37 GMT
Damaskcat says:
You need to go to manage your Kindle in your Amazon account to delete it from the cloud - but if you do that and want to read the book again you would need to buy it again.

P. Talbot says:
Thanks I will try that right now.

Can some kind person please tell me why after deleting all foreign instruction books and dictionaries from my kindle library in 'manage my kindle' they reappear after about a week?.
This is so annoying I've deleted them now 4 or more times!
Thanks Pat H

They get reinstated when there is an update.

In reply to an earlier post on 18 Apr 2013 07:58:00 BDT
Denis Powell says:
Just ignore them. As you buy more books they'll gradually disappear from view further down the list. Deleting them only causes fresh copies to appear on the first page.
