Kindle, Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display
Looking at the browser on the basic Kindle, it is still very clunky. However I would really like an effective browser and email facility on my kindle without extras like streaming videos, games etc. and think this is definitely worth pursuing.

Maybe, maybe not. The browser is clunky as hell, and could you imagine trying to read your emails with that insane ghosting the browser gets? It's just not designed to refresh like page-turns are, so ends up looking dreadful and faded

Know what you mean, but Kindle are askng whether they should keep working on improving it - if they can get it working smoothly that would be worthwhile.

Richard, I can't see Amazon investing in the browser on the e-ink devices. It's only of benefit to them if it encourages you to buy more books as they make very little money on the devices themselves. It's been unchanged for years.

It's unlikely anyone would invest in a Kindle simply for browsing when there are cheaper Tablets with better browsers and in colour.

I hope, however, that I'm wrong

If they can get it working it would be a nice feature. Although I'd much rather see several more sort options on the home screen and an Archive that can keep track of what I've read, instead of resetting the book to 0% once it's removed from device.

Richard it sounds like you will be interested in the Kindle Hd Tablet..E-ink type kindles are just basic book readers..For 69 - 89 you're probably 'specting too much.
