When I did it, I plugged the kindle into the computer and dragged and dropped the pdf files into the kindles documents folder. They then showed up as books, with pdf written at the side.

Is there some specific reason why the resale of tree books is fine and not digital? I realise that you can make infinite copies of an ebook with zero loss of quality and thus profit indefinitely, my question is aimed at the tree books.
