Would really like to be able to use both sites on my Kindle Fire HD.

Have tried the link in http://www.amazon.co.uk/forum/kindle/ref=cm_cd_fp_ef_tft_tp?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx3IRFCNF3E5K2W&cdThread=Tx3ASJQTZ5HEWZ4 but doesn't work.

Fortunately channel 4od lets you view through the mobile version but not ITV player and Channel 5od

Do you know anyone with an android tablet or phone who could install ITV Player and then email you the .apk file? That's the easiest way to install it.

You won't be able to do that with 4oD or 5oD.

Don't think I do unfortunately

You may find the ITV Player app on a download site if you Google for it but I don't trust those.

The key to your issue is that the Kindle as supplied does not support Flash. Thee BBC recognised this as an issue for Apple users and provide an HTML5 version of their iPlayer to get over it. Our Kindles support this and work very well with the iPlayer as a result.

The article you linked to refers to the apps that can be used to overcome this problem but you may need to google the app names to find them.

If your looking for the apk file for ITV Player I have it and works fine (That's if your wanting it on a Kindle HD.).I got it for my Kindle HDX then transfered it onto my girlfriends Kindle HD machine and that to works fine. Let me know if you want it sent to you.

How did you get it on your HD machine? Can you not use the same method?

Copy the .apk file from one device to the other.

See this thread which describes how to successfully watch 4OD on the Fire HD:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/forum/kindle?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx3IRFCNF3E5K2W&cdThread=Tx1PHGKDI90Y2KL

Basically you need a Dolphin browser and Flash. I'd not tried to watch ITV Player as yet but a colleague asked if it was possible. Went straight in, no problem whatsoever, on the Dolphin browser that I use to watch 4OD!! Just the normal web page, no need for a mobile site as is the case with 4OD.

Best of luck

Apologies if everyone knows this already, but I just got a Kindle Fire HDX and the old link to an ITV Player apk file that I've used to sideload the player onto my Kindle HD in the past is no longer available. Did some searching and found this page: http://landoftechnology.com/2013/getting-round-the-itv-player-samsung-tie-in/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen grab of the ITV Player front page - just under the image of 'Loose Women' - and you'll see a 'download this file' link. Works a treat, and you can save the ITV Player apk file to your computer, so it doesn't matter if the page disappears in the future.

There is now an app called Demand 5, which works brilliantly.

Where can you find it?

Its in the Amazon app store now, just type it into search and off you go

I think the Demand 5 app is only available on the Kindle Fire HDX, not the Fire HD. I've sold my HD now so I can't check, but I seem to remember only being able to 'see' the app when accessing the store via the HDX, not the HD.

So is 40D...BUT might be on the amazon appstore but its definitely not for the KFHD - well at least not for mine. Apparently the app isn't compatible for my device.

So sadly only have just BBC iplayer on my KFHD. oh well....
