Hi, our Kindle Fire has arrived, I bought the HDMI connection lead so that I can connect the Kindle Fire to the TV, but when I play a LoveFilm video it does not connect to the TV I just get "no signal" but it plays on the Kindle. Do I have to set something up so that it recognises to play on the TV via the Kindle or am I being thick?? lol It would help if there was an instruction manual but alas no. Many thanks to anyone that can help.

First the obvious ... have you selected HDMI input as the signal source, and the correct input port if your TV has more than one, on your TV? (Your remote control should have a button marked Input / Source or similar).

If that's not the answer, some HDMI leads come supplied with connectors that are a little too short. Trimming a little of the plastic off with a sharp knife to increase the length of the metal connector can solve th problem (it's usually the small connector that goes in the tablet that's the problem).

Thanks Dave, will try trimming as we definitely have selected the correct HDMI channel, have even tried it in the DVD port as we know that works and still No Signal comes up. Thanks again

I only know this because I had this problem with my Momo tablet and an HDMI lead. Don't go mad, just trim 1mm off, try it and if it still doesn't work, take another 1mm off. Beyond that you may ruin the plug.

Nope still not working, I think it may be a dodgy HDMI cable :-(

Hmmm, very frustrating. Did the cable come as part of the Fire's boxed accessories or did you buy it separately? From what I've read, HDMI cables do come in 'different flavours', so perhaps you have the wrong one.

This is what I bought for my android Momo tablet after a recommendation, but as previously stated it did need the plug trimming a bit after which it works perfectly on my LG widescreen TV ...

Has anyone successfully linked up their kindle to watch love film on the tv? This was one of the features I was looking forward too.

Hello I have done it. I purchased a Logik HDMI to Micro Hdmi cable from Curry's Part no L1HDMC12 and it works

Love film instant not the same as the love film other accounts, does not play on your tv. Have tried it in the past. Netflix does however and you can download the app.

Mine worked straight away. It was surprising how good Lovefilm looked on the TV as well. Quite a nice feature.

I've had trouble with cheap HDMI leads in the past - if you can't get synch they're useless. Never buy the cheapest listed IMO.

S O says:
Your best bet for buying a HDMI lead is in a shop, where you can physically inspect the connection at either end, test the flexibility/thickness of the cable, and make sure it's not a cheapo plastic rip-off that will fall apart as soon as you pull one end out of the tablet/tv.

But don't be fooled by those £30+ cables, they're a total ripoff

Good evening . I had my kindle fire as a present last week I ordered a cable through Amazon via one of their dealers, by the name of Decresent. WWW.decrescent.com
Part No.P01-019. HDMI-MICRO-2M. this works out of the box. I am running Love films, Netflix, Office Apps and email on my LG HD tv.
I hope this helps
Alan

Mr. Lr Baker says:
I also have aLG Tele. my kindle works well on the tv upstairs however it does not work on my main Tele downstairs the LG one. any help? its very annoying

In reply to an earlier post on 1 Jan 2013 22:18:25 GMT
If the Tele downstairs is an full HDMI then your kindle will work. on the TV handset choose the Blue home setup button on the handset then go to the input icon and choose HDMI 1 2 or 3 depending on where you plugged in your HDMI cable from your kindle. you will then be able to watch Lovefilms or Netflix . I hope this helps

No it is not. sounds like you have a Fire and not a Fire HD.

In reply to an earlier post on 12 Jan 2013 00:26:05 GMT
have got the fire or just the standard fire?

Mr. Lr Baker says:
hi Alan thanks for the reply. it works upstairs with 2 hdmi inputs but not downstairs because my Tele only has 1 hdmi input. can this be resolved in anyway? hope so

In reply to an earlier post on 13 Jan 2013 15:58:27 GMT
they do not make "splitters" for HDMI (well, I've not seen any in the shops) - the "cure" is to take the existing HDMI cable out (comes from your dvd or somewhere) and put your FIRE one in when you want to watch it.
Not very elegant but ....

I have a rather old Sony Bravia with only 1 HDMI port and have a small box with three HDMI inputs and 1 output to the TV. Neet© - 3 Port HDMI AUTO SWITCH 3x1 Mini Hub Box (3 way input 1 output) 1080p Full HD v1.3b HDMI Switcher
That works with everything even my Fire and Camera.
