Have you reported it to Amazon and de-registered it?

Caleb Zerox says:
I can only find 3 year square trade warranty. I just bought this Kindle touch a week ago before going for Italy trip. But I still havent bought the 3 year square trade warranty before the Kindle was stolen.
But, what is the difference between the 3 year warranty square trade and square trade?

I do not know how to report to Amazon but I have de-registered it.

J. H says:
You don't need to tell Amazon, if you've deregistered it from your account, thats all you can do.

Princess says:
@ Mr Lee - I would contact Amazon and let them know it's stolen as other posters have been told that they won't let the kindle to be registered to another account. You can contact them through he help button at the top/right hand side of this page.

J. H says:
You don't even need to register a kindle to an Amazon account in order to use it so its a pointless waste of time informing them.

Princess says:
In your opinion it's a waste of time. Personally, I'd prefer to limit what someone could do with it if they had stolen it.

Knightmare says:
Can you not claim for it on your travel insurance?

J. H says:
Well, its also been proven on here that Amazon do not do anything anyway. Someone reported one stolen, as they believed it to be at the time and later found it. There was no issue with registering it with a different account.

Also, someone who steals one will have no issue downloading illegal books which can be put onto the kindle via USB.

So, no, its not my opinion, it just IS a total waste of time......

@ JH. Just because you shout it doesn't make it so. It's your opinion, as I said, not fact.

J. H says:
Spend time phoning Amazon, amazon do nothing.

That is just a waste of time, how you cannot actually see that for yourself is slightly beyond me.

They don't block them, its been proven.............

Damaskcat says:
You can't claim as you didn't buy the insurance before the Kindle was stolen.

Did the thief sing...Just one Kindletto, give it to me?!

(apologies, this is uncharacteristically silly of me)

Surely, possibly a wind up?

Hi to JH ... :) Trust and hope that you are fine and dandy? Hope you are now settled in your new home.
My regards to each and all,

Caleb Zerox says:
Hi everyone, first of all, I should thank everyone who has shared valuable information to me. At the same time yesterday, I have posted an enquiry regarding the stolen kindle, and the person in charge of the email has helped me to prevent others to re-register. Thanks everyone again!

Jonnyboy, that s funny~ Well, I think the thief was singing baggeto instead of Kindletto! I lost a lot inside a bag...
Knightmare, this is my first time going out the country and have less experience regarding about travel information. I only followed my friends. So, unfortunately I did not have a travel insurance. Well, I think I have overcome it now although I did lose a lot a lot of stuff. Not a bad experience for my first journey right? Haha...

Even if you had already taken out the insurance you would have had to report it to the police in order to make a claim.

Caleb
Sorry to read that you lost your belongings as well.
But the loss of my Kindle as well would make it even worse.
It must leave you with a bad feeling about travelling again.
All the best anyway..:(
