Good morning! xxx
I'm taking my bicycle to the university to be serviced today - and tonight I'm working at the outdoor Silent Film Festival in Heaton Park! I love these once a year events. It will be cold though so I'm taking a blanket :)

Voyages with a Merchant Prince: Secrets of the Ripley Diary
For the first time, the remarkable Ripley Diary is in print. It documents an astonishing voyage to a secret destination in China. This original 19th-century text is unique, revealing the early days of free trade in defiance of the edicts of the Emperor of China. Enjoy the story of Thomas Ripley, hailed by the Liverpool Chronicle as `one of our most successful merchant princes', a man who rose from rags to riches. Share the thrill of watching whales and dolphins, the excitement of racing a rival ship to Java, and the delights of exotic locations.

Grailem
Created in a test tube he had been bred specifically to be fully integrated with an artificial robotic body. To live forever has been Man's dream almost since time began; would immortality finally bring the happiness that we all desire?

A Good Find
Three friends go for a cycle ride along the North Kent coast and find a bag of money belonging to local smugglers and drug dealers. The drug dealers are soon hot on their trail to regain their money and the three friends soon find themselves in very serious trouble.

Agent Provocateur
When Grace meets Betty, it's clear that they're never going to be the best of friends. Grace is a honey trapper, hired to tempt unfaithful men and prove their infidelity to their partners. Betty is a journalist, seemingly happily married. She horrified at the thought of seducing another woman's man for profit.

The Lake (Revised and Extended)
An isolated cottage near a windswept lake - an attic full of sinister, faceless portraits - a mysterious teenager who nobody else seems to notice: suddenly this is everyday life for 17-year old Londoner Esther after she is sent to live with her reclusive painter aunt in a rainy Cornish village.

The Marianna Voyages I: How To Fill A Black Hole
12 light years from earth, the massive starship The Magellan is 164 years into its journey into the unknown. A journey it is destined never to finish. Finding themselves alone in space having lost everything they have ever known, Connor, Grace, Evelyn, Adam and Max face many terrifying ordeals. Whether it's fighting off giant venomous spiders on the acid planet Zulfura or an attack from four-winged vultures on Baldr, the children must put their differences behind them and learn to work together if they are ever to find safety.

Hop City House: First Book of Hop City Saga
We lived with our 4 daughters in an old house in Upstate New York. Our house was in need of major repairs when we bought it. Curious about the house's history and the Roman numerals my husband discovered in the attic beams of our saltbox, I had just begun my local research when we were relocated to Texas. Now I tried to put Hop City behind me. But our house was not to be forgotten.

Flames of Rome
A madman who murders his way into power lusts for ever-greater glory and domination. A capital city awash with corruption, sensuality, and political intrigue is at the flash point. And caught between the crushing currents of history are a new but growing religious group known as the followers of The Way. Award-winning historian and best-selling author Paul L. Maier has created a compelling style of documentary fiction, using only known historical events and persons to bring to life first-century Rome in all its excess, treachery, and insanity. This is the Rome that the apostle Paul visits, where he's placed on trial, and which is forever changed by his testimony and witness.

Granny Ghost Hunter
Shelagh McHardy is an "ordinary" mum and grandmother. 3 years ago, she started visiting historical locations and found, to her surprise, that the photographs she had taken contained some extremely strange and often unexplainable "oddities" within. This is the story of her journey, the research she has undertaken and her in-depth investigation into the paranormal. Covering locations in England, Scotland, Europe and Africa, the book contains numerous genuine photographs of some very strange anomalies ..... Ghosts?

Miss Gone-overseas: A Pillow Book
In the sparse, lyrical style of a classic pillow book, Miss Gone-overseas chronicles a wartime life that doesn't focus on guns, bombs or military depredations, but on the pedestrian life of a lower-class Japanese woman as she reflects on the turmoil around her. Set on a lush tropical island during the later part of World War II, the book begins and ends with separations that are also beginnings.

The Spruce Gum Box
A family forged by adversity. A community united by dreams. With a bounty on his head, Jed turns to the one man he could trust; a nearby Micmac settlement leader. As the strife escalates over the border of Maine and the rights to its lucrative lumber industry, the unlikely partnership defies all odds to protect Jed's son, overcoming bigotry, betrayal, and the unforgiving 1820's Maine wilderness.

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT: I Dream if Jeanie...a Tunnel, a Mausoleum and Love (THE CHAMPAGNE BILLIONAIRE Book 5)
This is a sweet little story also involving the tunnel and the empty Mausoleum in Vienna that goes back to the days of the Second World War. And of the American who lived and loved there, of the people who loved him, his little family, of the song that he taught them to sing, and of what eventually happened to them all.

The Last Good Man
A novel of mystery, passion, loss and longing set on a wild Cornish beach.

The Latecomers Fan Club
What is it about guys with guitars in their hands that makes them so irresistible, even when they are obviously self-centered jerks? If Abby and Maggie could answer that question, maybe they could finally get over Nathaniel. Abby was first sucked in by Nathaniel's rock 'n roll swagger four years ago when a drunken fling turned into a series of drunken hook-ups that became something like a relationship. Now, as New Year's Eve promises a fresh start, she wants to believe he's finally going to grow up and take their relationship seriously.

Arnco
Jake Brigham, a wildly successful first time author is drowning in the undertow of his newfound success. After years of "winning," he realizes he has only lost--a beloved mother, a marriage, even his ability to create. Eventually, he leaves the demands of New York and returns to a place once close to his heart: Arnco, a dying Georgia mill village. He rebuilds his life, and his passion returns, for words, and for a childhood friend.

Among the Jimson Weeds (Running Nowhere Trilogy Book 1)
Conor Kelman, a young man coming of age, faces triumph and trauma every day. Misunderstood and not learning or knowing how to deal with his issues, he is in a constant state of awkward discomfort. Weird, different, he tries to fit in, to be accepted. He searches for something to call his own--his girlfriend, guitar, a little white house in an apple orchard. Inwardly, he hangs from a cliff by his fingertips. Gabbie, the guitar from the pawnshop and the ghost that came with her are all he has. Visions that play in his head haunt and distract him. They won't stop no matter how fast or far he runs.

From Stardom to Wisdom
Once known as Kirsten Lindholm, model, movie actress and the most drop-dead gorgeous vampire to grace the Hammer Horror movie screen, Elandra Kirsten Meredith had the world at her feet; fame, beauty, and a jet setting lifestyle in the Swinging London of the 60s. Drawn by an inner calling and guided by renowned New Age guru Ram Dass she falls in love with a famous rock star turned yoga teacher, marries him and follows his example in abandoning celebrity in favor of Yoga teaching and ashram living during the spiritual revolution that swept California in the 70s.

Heloise and Abelard: A Twelfth-Century Love Story by Jim Burge

It was the greatest love story of the middle ages.

Abelard was a brilliant philosopher in Paris. Heloise, his student and 15 years his junior, was a poet already famous for her learning, a woman with a uniquely powerful insight into her own feelings.

The letters they wrote to each other - some of which have only recently come to light - open a miraculous window onto the story of their affair.

The confession sparks a huge investigation and Inspector Drewes finds himself at the helm, capably assisted by Withers, who proves a master of disguise.

They discover that three possible murders and a spate of thefts have gone unsolved by the police. They need to find the perpetrator - and fast.

Death in Room Five (A Chief Inspector Littlejohn Mystery)

a classic detective mystery by one of the masters of the genre.

'Bellairs is up there with the greats of English crime fiction. Every fan of the genre should read him.' - Robert Foster, best-selling author of 'The Lunar Code'.

George Bellairs was the nom de plume of Harold Blundell (1902-1985), a crime writer and bank manager born in Heywood, near Rochdale, Lancashire, who settled in the Isle of Man on retirement. He wrote more than 50 books, most featuring the detective Inspector Littlejohn. He also wrote four novels under the alternative pseudonym Hilary Landon.

Hello all
Has the 'discussions' link gone from anyone else's home page? It's taken me ages to find the link to get back on here! Anyway here I am and offering two very different types of book - the first I downloaded for my mum but the second is for me (I've read the others in the series but not seen this author offered free before) x

Gracie (Women & War Book 1) - London 1938 - Gracie Thompson has a job, a loving family, a twin brother who drives her insane and a great friend. A chance meeting introduces her to the love of her life. But the storm clouds are gathering, Europe is teetering on the verge of war and threatening to destroy everything Gracie holds dear. When war arrives her family are split up, her lover is in daily danger and her life is threatened. Her father and boyfriend believe a womans place is in the home but she is equally determined to do her duty for King and Country.

Island of Bones (Louis Kincaid Book 5) - In the wake of a hurricane a tiny skull washes up in front of detective Louis Kincaid's cottage. Days later, the bullet-riddled body of a woman surfaces on a nearby island. She has no identification...except for a unique coral ring. Sensing a connection, Louis begins his investigation, a search for the truth that will lead him down a trail of secrets and lies-to the Island of Bones, where evil never dies and the living never escape.

@Debra - depends what you are using . My laptop is fine but on my Ipad, since they inserted 'Refurbished Kindle link, the Discussions tab has been moved along and is no longer visible. I have had to bookmark this forum. Especially since they changed the MYK page, there are no longer any links at the top of that page.
the book below has probably been mentioned already, just included one as this is the freebie page
