so I have a replacement kindle, (second insode a year no charge fantastic service) and excuse my questions as I've done it before but am coming off nights and am tying myself upin knots trying to work this out.
Its showing as registered on mangage my kindle (so is old one)
I have all books in archive on new one
I have all the collection titles on new one but empty.
I open archive move book to home screen then move from home screen to collection.
questions,
1)why ds it still show on home screen ? how do I get it off of there ?
2)is there a quicker (and night shift head proof) of doing it ?

thanks for your patience

Willber G says:
Make sure that your home screen is sorted by Collections (see top right corner).

S O says:
1 - Change your Sort by,... settings to "Collections"

2 - Nope. One book at a time is it :) If you go into that particular Collection you can go to Menu and choose "Add/remove items" and you'll get a list of all the books on the device (not in Archives) so you can tick the box beside the ones you want to move. Click Done when you're done :)

Click the book in the archive. Tap to Open when it tells you to. Press your Homepage button. Find the book. Long-hold on the book or click it for an options menu. Select Move to Collection. Find the Collection. Do a little sailors jig. Select the Collection. Select Done.

See? This is how you interact with folk who are trying to help, not with "you people" comments!

You got that right! I think the guy on the other thread was pretty stressed out but it was no way to get what he wanted.

An acceptance speech made a nice change! (I wouldn't like to be the Zon employee who has to handle that guys call!!)

Yes - but he only had to call Amazon - a matter of minutes.

While I'm on I had a replacement yesterday - all the books are archived on the new kindle but there are no Collections showing at all even when Sorted By.
Any ideas?

Top right hand corner of this page on your screen - Help
Then Contact Us.
They will actually call you.

It sounds as if your husband's kindle is dead call customer services or better yet get them to call you. In the manage my kindle page click kindle help then the contact us button then click the call me option. That way you will have already entered all your security details and a kindle techy will call you. If the kindle is registered to your husbands account he may be the one who has to call them, or rather be called. As its still under warranty they will most likely send you a new kindle ASAP.

BJT, you need to download your books from archive then use the "Other Device Collections" option. The downloaded books will then be automatically put into the collections.
