Denis Powell says:
No, but all your Amazon ebooks will appear listed in the Cloud tab of Books, provided its registered to the same Amazon Account as is your "old" Kindld, and you can download any one of them with a simple tap. You can also send them from Manage Your Kindle.

Oh sheesh.
Ignore Denis.

Yes, all your books will be available to transfer to your new kindle and you'll get easy to follow instructions from the fire.

Shar: Please IGNORE P E, and listen to Denis.

You can NOT transfer Amazon books from one device to another, they wont work.

As Denis says: Books bought from Amazon will be in your account. As soon as you register your new Kindle to that account, all of your books will be available to download to the new device. It is really VERY easy and straight forward: connect to wifi, click on Cloud, click on a book you have previously bought from Amazon and read it.

Books are stored on your account and NOT your Kindle.
When your new Kindle is registered to your acxount you will see all your books on your account cloud from where you may download them onto your Kindle.
You do not have to download all your books as they are always available to you in your cloud.

Feel free to ignore me and 'listen' to Denis. Lol!

As long as your new device is from your existing account, you won't require advice from here.

Your fire will walk you through.

As Denis rightly states, you do not transfer your Amazon books from one device to another, that will not work. All you need to do is ensure that your new device is registered to your account and all your Amazon bought books will be stored safely in the cloud ready for you to download.
