ouch ... thanks people. Just remembered why I haven't bothered with A forums in the last year. See you all in 2013 for my next reminder

Clagg says:
Sorry but that really, really IS nonsense. You stated "Getting into arguments then apologising afterwards are symptoms of Depression "

It isn't. At all.

Going out to "shag" another woman is NOT one step from being a rapist.

You're generalising and sensationalising something that a person does and calling it "almost rape" It isn't. It is a long, long, long way away from rape.

You seem so be so ready to add your own diagnosis and symptoms where they don't belong.

EDIT: nice to know the No vote trolls are back.

I have had a reply back from Amazon and according to them it is not against their guidelines to start a thread with a forum member's name in the title provided the contents are not derogatory. But I notice they have deleted the opening post.

Clagg says:
Yes Damaskcat, I found the same reply. Apparently even quoting their own rules back to them is not enough and you can create any thread you like, slagging off anyone you like, for any reason you like, they don't take much notice or take any action until they get a lot of complaints.

Damaskcat says:
It seems they have deleted the OP in all the threads I complained about. I think - from past experience - that if you send them copies of specific objectionable posts they do delete them but maybe they're not too keen to delete whole threads - when not all the comments were nasty.

It does seem as though people can get away with slagging anyone off unless the posts are actually libellous.

C says:
I wonder how they would respond if one was to start a thread with this customer services representative's name in the heading who dealt with this.... Going on to quote their response of course.

Damaskcat says:
Now that I think would probably get you banned because someone copied and posted a warning about their behaviour received from Amazon on the fiction forum a couple of years ago and was banned immediately after that.

C says:
My point exactly. No one should be subject to having their name in a thread heading.

In reply to an earlier post on 20 Mar 2012 09:32:03 GMT
Damaskcat says:
Looking at the whole thing objectively I can see that there were a great many posts in the threads which were complimentary to me so I suppose that's why they weren't deleted. Some were abusive and there are still some in other threads which are too. But too be honest I'm not sure I want to spend ages copying and pasting them into an e-mail and sending them off.

Clagg says:
I quoted their own rules and explained how a thread had a user name in the title, and was full of comments that were made to denegrate and embarras them. Amazon did the square root of naff all about it!

If you go to this link though

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=report_libel?ie=UTF8&nodeId=1040616#defamatory

You can make an official complaint and it would seem is the only thing they take seriously.

Damaskcat says:
Clagg - I considered going down the defamatory route and I may yet do so. I notice there are one or two comments in the Lesley Pearce thread which seem designed to resurrect the whole thing and I'm thinking about reporting those through that route.

Daisi says:
Damaskcat I would not worry about it too much as you said you did get a lot of complimentary posts and most of the forum were outraged by what went on. A certain person showed herself in the true light and is still carrying on in the Lesley Pearse thread (a post which is totally incorrect if I am not mistaken) but she is just making herself look immature and petty let her get on with it, give someone enough rope ...

? That is only a selection of her books 13 in fact Lesley wrote 20 novels which are all here on the AZ site and not all at 2.99.

Any reason this has appeared on this thread?

I have to take issue with this. I don't think any of us can say the symptoms of depression one way or the other unless we're mental health experts. I do know depression is immensely complex and involves varying psychologies and behavioural patterns depending on the causes and nature of the depression. Theoretically a lot of behaviours therefore could be linked to depression of some sort. People are no-voting because the rapist idea does your argument no favours.

Sheer hypocrisy Fi - homespun "life's too short" philosophy followed by more spite.

In reply to an earlier post on 20 Mar 2012 10:13:11 GMT
Fi esta says:
No sorry - not meant in spite, an observation that I have noticed several times in the past - clearly I should have kept to myself. I will remove it.

Daisi says:
Fi no need to remove, I am just not sure what you meant.

Fi - my post was not aimed at you.
I was agreeing.

O.K. Sometimes I have an 'overview' of posters motives, and can't believe how trusting some posters are, when actually they are just being played
