Congratulations Main , I loved physical geography at school - was top of the class in that, but later on I had to opt for French, which I was useless at. Hope you get a good job out of it , lad.

Post deleted above ...sorry, on the wrong thread. Think it's time I was tucked up for the night, getting too tired to even think. Night, all.

What i have seen is Kindle Book prices have increased by 30% with respect to US Kindle Book Prices.Kindle Book which cost USD 15 in America is costing USD 23 in India.
I am not able to understand why this difference.
Can anybody explain me

CBRetriever says:
VAT and other taxes and what the publishers choose to charge - sounds like you're in the same boat as the Australians price wise

also, the prices I see fluctuate with the euro to dollar exchange rate (they're down for me now)

Sanar says:
I was horrified today, when I went to try and find some new reading material that Amazon have hiked the prices. At first the ebooks were nice and cheap, but now... more expensive that paperback and hardcovers. This really feels like a rip off. Sucker us all in to buy the hardware and then send the prices for the books sky high. Well my kindle will now go into the bookcase until amazon reduce the ebook prices. Not spending any more good money on them, I would rather buy Google books and read them on my Android devices, shame about the Kindle, its just become a dead format. Oh and by the way I am aware that you all say the publishers set the prices, I don't think thats entirely true. I also notice that this forum has been flooded with rubbish which is off topic, no doubt by Amazon staff who wish to bury the bad news... Trolls!

Denis Powell says:
Sanar, please let us know what ebooks you've found that are more expensive than the paper versions. I've seen it happen very occasionally but, in general, I don't find that to be the case. Most of my ebooks have been significantly cheaper than even the paperback so I'm getting many more ebooks for my money than I could paperbacks.

I certainly don't see many "sky high" prices other than for new releases but that's always been the case. At one time, because of the Net Book Agreement, you always had to pay the full cover price for a Hardback and often had to wait nearly a year for the cheaper paperback to appear. Prices are much lower now.
