@Wilber
'...more like frustration that people repeatedly complain about a "design fault". It's clearly not, otherwise all Kindles would suffer from it, and most do not'.
I would love to be one of the confidently happy owners, who have owned a kk without getting hairline cracks appearing in the corners of the screen... (Another problem)
What the overall percentage of kindle owners who have had kindle's afflicted with this is, impossible to estimate. But I and many others believe that there is a problem, and have bought a touch in the hope that it will prove to be more resilient. (And backed that up with an extended warrenty...)

Lee says:
you think that because you have a broken Kindle there has to be some big fault with them, not that you were just unlucky, thats why.

Stonyook says:
No! That's not what we're saying, these kindles have lasted less than 12 months and were unhappy with this. Should you spend over a hundred pound on an item that lasted you just over a year and then ceased to work through no fault of yours and be happy with that, then I'd say your foolish.................not just unlucky.

Lee says:
you bought a product with a 12 month warranty, you had use of a product that lasted 12 months, if it breaks after 12 months Amazon offer a cheaper replacement, £100-£200 for a years use of a product at worse is not too bad, try buying an iphone for £400 or a TV for a £1000 and it breaks then try and get them to offer you a replacement at half price!

Damaskcat says:
At that rate ALL computers have a design flaw because every computer I've ever used freezes from time to time. Most instruction manuals have a section on troubleshooting and what to do when certain things go wrong - does that mean everything has a design flaw?

Damaskcat says:
Some people have problems. What others object to is the faulty reasoning which says 'I have a problem therefore there is a design flaw'.

Go and see a taxidermist - I've had enough of your inane comments every time anyone posts. Excluded from school with nothing better to do presumably.

most pc's freeze cos of running to any programs at once, or cos of trying to download things when the internet connection is not good for example. this roduct has one problem, it always 'breaks' in the same way - even the lady above who says she is happy, but has had 3 replacements - i think that says a lot about the product - but what is she going to do when it breaks after her 12 months is up?

the point being made and missed by you was, in answer to Amazon and others having product trouble shooting help info, they don't have a "your kindle is now knackered but this is how to fix it area but this will not fix it really area", the info is there to fix a froozen screen not fix a dead screen as you posted, you were trying to say Amazon know there is a problem with Kindles that break within a year so have a help area to fix them? make your mind up, the screen is either broken and can't be fixed or just frozen as an iphone or PC can and the info on this will have your Kindle back working as good as new again.

Damaskcat says:
Thanks for the lecture! Kindles don't all break in the same way. You have suggested that computers freezing is because of user error. Kindles freezing is also frequently due to user error too.
