A recurrent theme is "never lonely". Strange. I accept that reading is a solitary pleasure, but I've never related it to being lonely.

I am greedy. I only plan on one life (if there is reincarnation I am NOT coming back as a wombat and will fight every step of the way) and books mean that I can experience more than I can ever hope to achieve.

My main Kindle pleasure is the ability to revisit so many of those childhood favourites without the "isn't that a kids book" glances from fellow travellers.

I never feel lonely, never have really. I just read because I like it.

learning to read at early age (in my case 5/6) does have some disadvantages, for in my case when birthday or christmas came round all I ever got were books, and in my case it continued right up to getting a Kindle. They now have to think about what to buy me

The water Babies - Ali Baba, Janet and john - Then as a teenager grown up books - There was one book cannot remember the title (no change there then) but it was about a man and a woman - She commits suicide but cannot get into Heaven until he dies naturally and she has to go through hell to get to wait for Heaven - heavy stuff - always remember that as a first grown up book

I remember reading a book called 'My Friend Gina', about a girl and her golden retriever had a lasting effect, all my dogs have been yellow labrador/retrievers....
