Can you let me know if te lighted cover is any good? as I will need one if I buy a kindle as I have to read a book by torch light

Mrs Howard I love the Amazon lighted covers. Had one for my K3 and now the Touch and would never dream of having another case. I was worried about the new case not having a closure but it seems to stay closed and it doesn't appear to be a problem. :)

I echo what Chrissy says. The Amazon Lighted cover is excellent and worth the money in my opinion. I've also had one on my K4 for 6 months and the lack of any means of securing the cover in the closed position hasn't caused me a probem either even though it's often buried under several pounds of vegetables until I'm on the bus ;-)

I would like to also add that the new location of the light is far superior to where it was on the Kindle Keyboard lighted cover. Have just been using this new one and the light is directly over the top and looks much better than before when the light was coming in from the right.

Now people have had their Kindle touch's for a few days now I was wondering whether anyone has tried surfing the net or playing the games?
What are the games , how many are there and can you download new ones.
What is surfing the web like? does it work well and can you go on any web site you want?
I know it is essentially an e-reader but those two additional features would be a good extra if they work well.

Thanks

I actually tested the web browser today. It was surprising good, fast and easy to navigate. I tried the BBC news and the Daily Mail web sites. Both were quick to download and easy to read. I love the fact that you can pinch voom. Colour me a tad surprised, I thought it would be alot like the KK3G web experience, I was glad to be wrong. :)

Has anyone else had a problem with Amazon charging their card in time for despatch? I pre-ordered 2 Kindle Touch devices for shipping on release date of 27th April 2012.
They debited the card on 20th April 2012 as the product was released early..... Only issue being that the money they debited was for my rent payment, which obviously bounced as did several other direct debits.
I contacted Amazon regarding this and was told that I needed to give them the banks fax number(!) in order to get the funds, which they incidently refer to as being "a ring-fenced small amount" I suppose to a large corporation like Amazon, that is a small amount.
4 days later - no touch, no refund. All I have received are several "stock" emails - why have Amazon suddenly got so bad at customer service?

I have, been fobbed off again. Does anyone know who I can complain to instead of customer services

Jo says:
No there isn't anyone else, other than your bank. Assuming they haven't despatched your Touch's I would assume they are processing a refund, but only Amazon CS or your bank can tell you.

teaandtoms says:
I've spoken to my bank & CS. Bank say its the retailers responsibility to refund. Amazon CS have asked me for a fax number for my bank..... I asked the bank and they laughed at me - this is the 21st century!

CBRetriever says:
does amazon.co.uk have regular kindle CS and Kindle CS? try calling the other one if that's the case

Posted on 24 Apr 2012 15:51:58 BDT
Jo says:
Has Amazon actually taken the money, or is it just marked so you can't touch it? If its been deducted then I don't see why Amazon CS can't confirm a refund has been processed, if it just been 'ring fenced' then you need to ask your bank when the marker falls off so you can get access to the money.

teaandtoms says:
My bank said the money was held for Amazon and the marker should have fallen off today
