I too have been let down by Yodel. Their Local hub received my amazon item on 15/05/12 and the tracker showed no further movement after 16/05/12. I went to the hub on 19/05/12 and after they had looked for it was told that it had been taken for delivery by an agency driver who had not scanned it out. This driver was not contactable and his agency could not be contacted before 21/05/12. I would have thought that keeping track of the items which they have to deliver would be a basic requirement of the business.

Also remember Napoleon scoffed at the English and said we were nowt but shopkeepers.

Twice the Russian Winters have saved the world from men wanting to dominate the world.

Alway suspicious when a company has a bad reputation and changes it's name.

I ordered "complete set of Poirot dvd's" from Amazon and they were to be delivered by DHL. "Groan, groan".

Left message for Amazon saying the dvd's had still not arrived.

The same morning it was wheelie bin day and I wheeled my blue bin (paper and cardboard etc) that I had dropped a few pieces of cardboad in it in the dark the previous night out on to the edge of my drive. It was still dark.

Three or four hours later I went out to see if the bins had been emptied, my green bin had but the blue one was still full. I moved the previous night's cardboard and there was the Amazon parcel.

A change of name and probably management does not have seemed to have made much difference.

What really annoys me is when you sit in the lounge with it's door open so you are less than 10 feet from the front door (bell working and door knocker in order) then you get up to go and get a cup of coffee and find a card had mysteriously arrived on the hall carpet saying "Tried to deliver but no answer"

I have even cleaned the contacts and changed the batteries in the door bell in case it was working only some of the time to be told by e-mail that the driver had said "There wasn't a doorbell to ring".

My parcel has been 'out for delivery' for over two weeks, from their depot, which is only 2 miles from my house!!!!! Can I get to speak to someone? Like Hell I can! I've tried emailing them - no response. I've waited on hold again and again and again.
AMAZON: The worst decision you every made was giving the delivery contract to YODEL. I have been purchasing from Amazon for years, but am beginning to look elsewhere, simply because of Yodel.
Not happy!

Why don't you contact Amazon about this? I had a package delayed for one day and Amazon responded very well when I contacted them. You are wasting your time trying to contact any courier company - much better contact Amazon who will ring you back.

Couple of weeks ago I order something from Boots. I received an e-mail to say it would be delivered by Yodel- oh no I thought after everyones bad experiences.
I received an e-mail from Boots to tell me when the parcel was despatched and when it should be delivered. Again great anguish as the delivery date was earlier than I expected (by a day)so no one would be in to receive it. The day of delivery came- I received a text from Boots to say that my order had been delivered but as no one was available a card would be through the door saying where the parcel had been left.
On returning home expecting the worst - parcel taken back to depot - a card was through the door saying the parcel had been left under the bench in the garden. Perhaps Boots expect better than Amazon.

I ordered a fairly large item recently (halogen cooker) apparently it was delivered and signed for by someone called Jones - no one called Jones near me. The manufacturer has resent another having been told by yodel that the driver dosent remember what he did with it.
2nd parcel yet to materialize

We've seen couriers, not just yodel, get out of the van, card in hand, come to the door, post the card through and leave without even getting the parcel out of the van or knocking.

Hi there.
All I can talk about is my experience with Yodel. Twice I have had deliveries from Yodel. Both times I was out. Both times they left a card. Both times there was a mobile number on the card. Both times they answered straight away when I rang. Both times they rearranged redelivery that same day. Both times they turned up when they said they would.
I live on a very large estate and the signage is pretty poor. My property is tucked away in quite a tricky location.
It could be that I had the same courier both times. Either way I was either fortunate or very fortunate to have an extremely pleasant experience both times.

99% of my deliveries - from all companies - have been good experiences. I've had the odd one which was delivered later than I expected but in the scheme of things that is a minor irritation. Good to see someone else has had good experiences :-)

The men and women who make these deliveries, in all weather, are not on megabucks, like the big cheeses. They are simply trying to earn a living. It is annoying if they can't fit into ones busy life but there is only us to blame. It is our need and desire which creates all these parcels to-ing and fro-ing and Santa Claus only works one day a year.

I agree with you. We hear so much about disatisfied customers but I'm sure most delivery drivers could tell us a few things about the way customers behave to them :-)

Yeah CC I have been waiting delivery from Amazon for 2 weeks, I was given two delivery dates - still nothing. Who refunds us if we don't get our orders?

are you sure it was delivered by yodel? only my faulty one was picked up them, but my new replacement came by royal mail and she just shoved it through the letterbox, luckily I was passing the door and grabbed it in time

I completely agree. We only ever hear one side but customers can be rather demonstrative sometimes. If the driver wants to keep his job, he just has to smile, or grunt and carry on.
