There was a young man from Tralee
Who was stung on the neck by a wasp
When asked if it hurt
He replied "not a bit"
It can do it again if it likes.

Brian says:
I was just wondering if a coke machine had ever been found inside a shark's stomach?

Brian - don't be silly... only "A's" deleted posts go into a shark's stomach! :)

That's why sharks always seem to be in a bad mood, they're full of aggression.

Caain says:
Hi Anya, that would make sense - if only my deleted post contained aggression - unless you meant they are full of coke machines :)

Not sure I understand your question Caain, but it was selected for Frankfurt book fair coming up in October because of New Zealand being this year's Frankfurt "Country of Honour". Our NZ Society of Authors is having a presence there to showcase NZ literature separate from the usual commercial publishers.

NZ Authors were invited to submit any books to be considered for inclusion and fortunately there was no bar on self-pubs submitting.
I submitted the print version of Ripple. It's a very attractive book to the lay person, but book industry insiders would recognise it as being a self-pub from several clues that give it away. (I thought I was creating the print book to appease family and friends only - not to show the whole world at Frankfurt!) But because of that, I thought I had no show and that they would not be likely to even read it.

But to my amazement she was chosen as one of what we are now calling in NZ, the "Frankfurt Forty". So I've decided to go along to Frankfurt with the book. There will never be another opportunity like this one to get my book out into the world.

On top of that, the Frankfurt selectors suggested I enter the book into a NZ contest for mind/body/spirit books. It is a $15.00 entry fee and has a $10,000 prize. If I won that it would pay for my trip and they must think I have some chance since they suggested it. So all my fingers and toes are crossed and of course I have entered her to the contest. I would never have thought of it, if they hadn't suggested it.

Tui, - mea culpa - my mistake:) I do recall reading that Ripple had entered and been chosen - I truly thought that it was "happening" during last month, April. Woe is me re my memory! So sorry for the mix up :)
