'Time Hunters author Carl Ashmore has got a publishing deal in Brazil - how excellent ! I know this forum has always supported Carl and has had a lot to do with the popularity of his book. He has a thread on MOA.

Also Rosin Trevithick is fast approaching her 100,000th free download on Kindle, how bonkers (not her - the numbers)

I think its amazing to see people achieving what they had hoped for, so quickly, especially on such a relatively new format.

:o)

Excellent news, thanks willie.
Carl, if you read this congratulations. You've earned it, but please don't forget us lowly types when you make it big :-)

Clagg says:
Yes, exactly, well done.

Also a well done to Stephen Leather for his new short story book which was published last week and good luck with the forthcoming release False Friends (The 9th Spider Shepherd Thriller) (A Dan Shepherd Mystery).

I LOVE the No votes. Isn't this a book forum?

It's about books and authors Brian.
Lots of the "customer discussion" on here have nothing to do with books at all but are allowed.

We ARE customers, Brian and we are allowed to publicise books and authors that we have read and enjoyed.

It's only the authors who are banned from promoting - not us.

Carl Ashmore says:
Aw, Willie, thanks so much for your mention. And yes, you're absolutely right. I think the support I've received from members of this forum has been crucial for the popularity of the books. I certainly am very grateful. Thanks, Suze.xx

And Rosin's figures are quite amazing. Well done, Rosin.

Carl Ashmore says:
Cheers, Princess, I certainly am. It came from nowhere. I was contacted a few weeks ago by Bertrand Brasil (they publish Lee Child, Marian Keyes etc) in Brazil asking if I might consider selling the rights for print books and ebooks. Yesterday, I had an offer.

Thanks, Caain. That's very kind of you to say.

And Lord Ed, I don't think we've met before. I'm afraid I can only do 75 keepie uppies on a good day, but I'm great at slaps and gobbing. Infact, at Coppenhall High School, Crewe (1979 - 1984) I think I was the pretty much the best slapper and 2nd best gobber :)

Well done Carl, your slaps and gobbing skills will come in very useful when dealing with publishers, and Ed!

Highwayman says:
Nice to know that eighteen months after the Leather War there are still enough people around who go in to a no vote frenzy at the mention of his name.

Congratulations Carl!

Clagg says:
Absolutely, Highwayman, abso-bloomin-lutely.

Bookie says:
Let's get the facts right please. I know nothing about the so called 'Leather war' Highwayman. I wasn't around (on this forum) eighteen months ago. Neither do I 'no vote' at the mention of 'his' name. But, as a reader, I do know that this highly unpleasant author has hounded me personally and very recently felt the need to post irrelevant comments on my reviews including one of Panasonic batteries. Let's have a little balance please.

The facts are that despite most people willing to state that they are mature and that their sensibilities are ones of tolerance and intolerance towards bullies and outrageous behaviour it is interesting that they forget all of it and revert to Neanderthal football hooligans whenever Stephen Leather is mentioned. No forgiveness for him, no sir-eee.

The no votes you see, and the testament above help to highlight my case. That is balance.

He's an author. A good one too. He has a book coming out in august. Nuff said.

"Neanderthal football hooligans"

Yes,the greatest worry about the european championships is a mass outbreak of no voting.
It was disguting the ways thousands of russian and polish thugs met to no vote each others forum posts.

Is hanging too good for no voters?

I think you're confusing the posters on here with him.
But. as you say, nuff said.
Why publicise him.

I am very happy for Carl . It also gives hope to other authors. Having read the Time Hunters now, I have this feeling that Carl will never forget his ''early'' readers.
I say it is wonderful writers like you who make happy readers like us.

And well done to Rosin Trevithick. I was not aware of her but I am going to check her out, to see if I can help with one more download :)

Well done to both of you.
